Must be a great achievement, all the way back in 1982 !

The gyro technology during those times was fairly primitive, compared to what is available now !

I dont think it is an electric. Correct me if I am wrong but you can find a muffler just behind the landing gear. and little bit of smoke coming from it.
You can see the smoke clearly at 0.50 , 1.10 and 1.18

Certainly glow from what I can gather... smoke being not prominently visible can be attributed to factors like video clarity, engine tuning, fuel blend etc.

sunk?

hi guys.
definatly liquide fuel ....as said above around a min in video can see the smoke......... no flying with battery in the 80's  all too heavey packs needed
prob had a 'new electronic gyro' then not the mechanical one
the head and tail were prob ally as standard then too.
my 600 hirobo is from the 50's and head and tail are quite heavy ally, not like the modern light weight ally.
