are there particular licenses for rc stores? or they come under normal commercial hobby/toy stores. Also do we need a license to legally fly rc models in india? like a flying license or something

Hello,
I would like to know if there is any legal license or anything similar required to fly rc models in India? Right now I can only assume that there is nothing as such, since the above post has no reply. Is my understanding correct?

Hi,

You dont need any licence for flying models as the frequency is 2.4ghz, legally accepted worldwide for use of Radio control. Its the ETA (Equipment type approval) that is needed by the dealers for selling radios in india.

ETA will be needed if you do not have approval for that item or product with the WPC. If you buy your product locally chances are the dealer or distributor has obtained for equipment type license. If your product is unique and not been approved by WPC, you will need to apply for ETA and Import license there after. ETA is usually valid for life for the model. Import License is valid for 1 year.

The above 2 will be needed for the Indian Customs for sure.
