HDFC and ICICI says that they have verified by visa card and mastercard secure code.So is there a diff. bet. VISA and VERIFIED BY VISA..........MASTERCARD and MASTERCARD secure code.??

We cannot use western union money transfer cause we can receive money from foreign but not send them(what chap >:()

Or please share your views or other mode of payment .if any.

So what sign i will be looking on my debit card.Should it be mastercard or visa??
Is there any currency conversion charged by those banks??

I am no expert on this but I have only one master and other are visa, the axis debit card I use is a verified by visa card. I've never been charged for currency conversion on it. But if you use debit card for buying from hobbyking then you'll have to pay an extra 1%, which is no big deal IMO for people who don't like credit cards.

No annual charges and it has a Visa logo on it, verified by visa is just a process.

Yes BUt what type of card u have (Axis)

I have a gold card, this one
http://www.axisbank.com/personal/cards/golddebitcard/Gold-Debit-Card.asp
But you dont have to get the same thing, there are lots of options available and you can use almost any debit card for buying on hobbyking. Get an SBI account first if possible, they have every thing you'll ever need. I use my axis account only because i have assigned all my other accounts for other serious stuff  :-X

I would suggest CitiBank. I have found them to be the best when it comes to online transactions. While all cards will function the same, customer service matters a lot and in this regard CitiBank comes out on top. They're not the best in the world but they're very good. I've got accounts with Barclays, Citi, Icici and SBT. So trust me, I've seen some horrible service.

Also Citi default cards are Maestro. But you can choose to have Mastercard (which I have) or Visa. They have several debit cards to choose from and the annual charges are more often than not waived off if you maintain a healthy account. I have two debit cards on my account and both are free. One is a Maestro with benefits for grocery shopping and the other is a Mastercard.

@rajathv8...thnks ;) but ma real birthday is on 24 jan ....2may  is my official bday date....anyways i will reserve ur wishing for ma next bday.lol : :giggle: :)

So what one had to do is open savings or current account and opt for Visa or Mastercard logo on credit or debit card .Then register for net banking ,then register card online. So its simple.
and yes credit card is only for people who are getting salary .but debit card anyone can get.The main diff. bet. debit and credit card
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/ManagingMoney/BankAccountsAndBankingProducts/DG_10035158

But i saw somewhere on the website that bank charges some  :Rs: for currency conversion i.e. 1% -3.5%.But thats not a great deal.
I am thinking of getting account in HDFC because one of its service NETSAFE is very good.As its name suggest it makes safe to shop online. It produces a virtual credit card that can be used only once. Therefore real credit card number is not exposed, ..almost impossible for anyone to misuse it.nice.

Snehal, suppose if u get a visa card means u have to create a password in ur bank's site which is called as verified by visa password..U have to enter this password in each time of ur purchase..So no need to worry about exposing ur card number..

@Krish  Yes u r right.
Verified by Visa and mastercard securecard services made online transactions safe.
But there are Hackers out there who are always waiting for a pray.
So We should also take precaution while buying something from credit or debit card online. We should never use public Computers as they may have installed keyloggers and other trojans.

You can go for Netsafe credit card option. I always use same to buy online. Generate Netsafe card from your existing credit card with desired amount of money and use. It will get expired in 24 hrs if not used.

I use icici and hdfc.. For me both are zero balance account because one is salary acc and other one is a demat acc.. For sb account you will have to have a minimum balance, for icici and hdfc it may be upto 5000rs ( not sure). They both provide visa or mastercard debit card, activate netbanking (It might be already activated), with this debit card you can buy from HK for sure because I do it, i dont have a credit card. When you try to make the first purchase then verified by visa or mastercard payment portal will ask you to create a new password for online transaction, thus you are secured.....

Good morning friends,

I am thinking of opening savings bank account in Punjab national bank coz it is nationalized and
provide netbanking and opening Rs 1000 BUT
PNB provides mastercard securecode only for the debit card and verified by visa on credit
card.

https://pnb.electracard.com/pnb/enrollment/enroll_welcome.jsp
@Sreedhar what is a demat account?
Since i am unable to get credit card therefore when i will get my debit card

(mastercard {secure code}) then WILL I BE ABLE TO BUY FROM Ebay And HK and every website ?

displaying mastercard logo on it....... :) Just one yes and i will fill up the form
...waiting..for reply
But it is written on card that "Electronic use only" of  one of my friends (he has salary account). Is that fine.?

Their are 2 types of card i think classic will do it for me.
https://www.pnbindia.in/En/ui/ATMDebitCard.aspx

Please suggest me an Rx battery for HK6Ch black which could be used with most of the motors or are their different motors
( models like Miickey Rc F-117 or Air truck or easystar and similar.)

Not ALL visa cards work with paypal. According to new restrictions from RBI, debit cards dont work with paypal irrespective of they are visa or mastercard.

Bobcard as posted above looks like credit card, thats why wanted to know if it works with paypal.

I feel paypal is a safer option when you are dealing with less know online shop as there is buyer protection form paypal . Also you dont need to provide your card information to shop while using paypal.

You can read more about it here  http://www.munising.com/why_pay_pal.html

Will i be able to buy from HK by this card From PNB? ?

PNB DEBIT CARD :-

The PNB Debit Card is essentially an on-line product. It bears the Master logo on the front and is accepted in India and all over the world at all MasterCard enabled ATMs and Merchant Establishments with POS machines having a tie up with MasterCard and also over the internet for ecommerce transactions.

TYPES OF DEBIT CARD ISSUED AND IT'S FEATURES

1. Classic Debit Card:

This is the most popular Debt Card for Saving Account Holders.
Classic Debit card can be issued in the personalized and non-personalized forms.
In Non – Personalized cards name of the customer is not embossed on the card.
Personalized cards has the name of the customer embossed on the card.
This card has a daily cash withdrawal limits of Rs.25000/-. A similar separate daily limit is available  for POS + ecommerce transactions.
It is a signature based card that can be used at POS terminals like a credit card (i.e. swipe the card at POS terminal and sign the receipt).
The card can also be used over the Internet for shopping (E-commerce transactions). As per norms, a Debit Card has to be registered for 3 D Secure password before it can be used for e-commerce transactions...

??? ???

NO i dont need paypal......i needed it before but the problem has no solution.credit cards are out of my reach. So i simply wanna know can i buy things from hk using this PNB debit card?

Classic Debit Card:

It is a signature based card that can be used at POS terminals like a credit card (i.e. swipe the card at POS terminal and sign the receipt).
The card can also be used over the Internet for shopping (E-commerce transactions). As per norms, a Debit Card has to be registered for 3 D Secure password before it can be used for e-commerce transactions...

So what is e-commerce ? When i saw HK website i saw simply mastercard written .Securecode was not written in there.thats why i am so confused.

He didn't believe and told me to get an order no. from any of my Friends so that he could check that whether i will be able to use debit card or not.
