sony ericson c 905 , 8 mp , autofocus .

i really want to have a good camera like SLR , i dont know where to start , like i had a talk with a professional photographer once and he told me like 1.5 lakh of budget , then i shutup.

Vineet, you do not need to have 1.5 lakh for a SLR camera.

You can start off with the latest Nikon D3100 DSLR camera or Canon EOD 1100D and both the cameras come with kit lens.

Price range between 29,000 to 31,000.

Check this out:

Canon EOD 1100D: http://www.thirdidigital.com/Products/Electronics-Cameras-and-Photography-Digital-Cameras/CANON/CANON-DSLR-EOS-1100D-WITH-18-55-LENS/pid-780369.aspx?Rfs=attrZZec107-004VPYQec107-004-5&pgctl=433003&cid=CU00001522

You can find better deals on eBay also.

Like I have mentioned before, I personally use a Nikon D80 which is not manufactured anymore but you can see the pics I have shot from the URLs I have shared in my earlier posts.

Remember, photography is not about the equipment, its more about what you see and would want others also see the same thing you saw. Equipment only helps you click with many features and settings to get the right quality and the details you see with your eyes.

Its not the equipment which makes you a photographer, its the composition that makes you a photographer.

With a good equipment, even a 3 years old kid can shoot pics but he is not a photographer.

Hope you got what I am trying to say and helps you get into this hobby as well because I am into both photography and RC.

@ANTA - Thats nice ! No distortion in the night pics ? I mean without flash ? (not considering the digital noise)
@Vineet - The D3100 is a great camera for a begginer ! Especially for starting off with ! It has all the features you would need to take pictures and many buttons to play around with (but not so many to confuse you :P ) The pics are also of amazing clarity (that ofc also depends on your lens)

vineet

:help: Anybody here familiar with "Nissin" flashes.

I have always believed that it is the person behind the camera who counts and not the expensive machinery. My first digital camera is / was a Sony Cybershot which I purchased in 2008 for Rs.6500/-. The first 4 pictures are taken with it.

Last year I purchased a Nikon L120. I am delighted with it. These photographs are taken with it.

Warning: The last photograph is NOT for those who are faint of heart.

I sometimes use my cameras in conjunction with my refractor telescope for astro photography.

Btw, the first photo is one of a series of shots of the total Solar Eclipse......................

Nice pictures VC. I like the frog picture the most.
Talking about cameras, I have identified Canon PowerShot A 1200 Point & Shoot as a good candidate for aerial photography. Inexpensive, wide angle (relatively) and Hd video.

Wow, really like your astro photos VC bhaiya!  :hatsoff: Anything related to astronomy/cosmology gets me going  (:|~

EDIT : For the picture below this post:
Awesome picture. Looks like a spherical elastic ball. I wish if you could send me some of your astro pics via email!

Dpreview.com is nothing but a shallow commercial review site. They always take neutral stand, not speaking too bad about anything.

For more in depth, largely unbiased review, visit :

HI, I got an oldie Sony DSC H50 (now not in production).

I clicked this picture just outside my home in gurgaon, when it was perfect dark. With slowest shutter speed and no flash.

Good shot Srivatsa! It reminded me of a similar shot that I took with a Sony DSC S 730 point and shoot.

Wow !! VC sir you are multi talented  :-) .. and i thought i can't shoot that in a point and shoot.. I have a cannon ixus point and shoot . . Will try doing it ..

VC

Thanks Srivatsa, not talented, just like to experiment. When I only had the Sony, I tried and tried and tried. Now that I have a better camera, I seem to have lost the interest to experiment. RC takes up all my time. Here are some more from the same camera.
