Don't forget, you must be a platinum member to use the buddy system. I've never heard of any single buys. Anyone who uses the code will get roughly 5% discount (sometimes more)  and the codes only last 2 weeks from date of purchase so be quick. I left about 6 codes on the Hobbyking forum here on RCIndia. They have another week to run so be quick if you want props.

I will be posting my list here every two weeks.

It's better than no blue icons isn't it? The prices are discounted as much as possible and then they still give you a bonus every time you make an order plus give anyone a discount if they buy the same item. I'd love to see any other shop do the same. Discounted prices with two discounts on top of that plus a discount for a friend. Not bad is it.? Oh yes, plus a chance of a freebie every time you spend $100 or more. I spent $107.00 about a month ago and ended up with what I ordered plus an $80.00 plane. About 4 months ago I got a $70.00 helicopter and prior to that got assorted tools, motors and batteries. I'm not even a lucky buyer. Some guys get much more.

Its good, But the only thing that hurts me ( well most of us ) is the shipping cost :( ..sometimes it will be more or less on par with what we purchase ..

Propfella

Hi srivatsa,

It's a killer isn't it. If you have a friend who buys from HK why not get together and combine your orders. See if it's any cheaper. Maybe three of you together may make it cheaper. The first step in freight is usually the worse, after that first kilo the next kilo is cheaper. I've never worked out how much cheaper it would be if 20 of you got together. Actually that probably wouldn't work due to your customs. I'm not sure if you have a duty free limit. Here in Australia we have a $200.00 limit. After that we have to pay a percentage on what we buy over that $200.00. Actually I know one club who has a group of about 15 and once a month they put together and buy over $500.00 to $1000.00 worth but HK put $180.00 or similar on the invoice and they pay nothing in taxes.

Our customs people can be really tough with the real sharks but they are pretty relaxed with the small guy. We can even tell HK what we want shown on our invoice, we can even ask them to class it as a gift which attracts no tax. I ordered 400 music CDs from the US for $400.00. I asked the seller to send them in two parcels but he didn't and I got hit for an extra $60.00. I didn't mind it was still a bargain.

I had a 1.5kg order last week and it cost $29.00 AUD to get here in 5 or 6 days. I could have paid $23.00 and it would take 3 weeks to get here. It was worth the extra $6.00 to have it early.

$29.00 AUD = 1662.83300508 rupees. How does that compare to your freight costs?  Remember the freight has nothing to do with HK, just the shipping company

That's a good idea, perhaps friends getting together and ordering will reduce the shipping cost.

and even  in India gifts upto  a limit is duty free. I think upto 90 - 100$ ( not clear on the cap though, i make sure they don't exceeded 100$) And i have ordered close to 260$ without attracting duty.

Mod Edit
you know what ;D

raja_mastana

That means shipping to India is very expensive

EMS Express (INDIA) 1000g - 1999g    = USD 52.41 (INR 2882)

International (Registered) Air Mail 1.5kg   $23.59 (INR 1298)
ALIGN 450 PRO DFC 6S Belt Driven | Polaris BEC | Nano-Tech 6S 1300mAH | Robird G31 | 325D Pro | TGY-306G HV | KST 515MG | K-Force 40A | NTM Rotor Drive 1700kv

Multiplex Easy Star 2 | Multiplex Mentor | Nissan 350Z Endless Tamiya TT-01D

srivatsa

Its mostly because INR is de-valued to its highest state :(

Propfella

I honestly think someone is trying to fool us. The EMS Express is the most expensive way to ship anything from Hong Kong.
Ordinary 5 day delivery by EMS no lipo is $29.00 for 1.5kg and $43.00 for EMS Express 3 day delivery. As my part of the country can't get express we can pay the $43.00 and it still takes 5 days.

Actually your Hong Kong Airmail is about the same as ours.  REMEMBER don't ship EMS Express.... ship EMS no lipo if you have it as an option. Either way you should have EMS without the Express.
