Nice build sir {:)}
Your builds in coro are with great precision... :hatsoff:
Thanks Pranav :thanks:
well going sir,
those are very powerful motors, i have one of them.
the build is going to be heavy ?
Thanks Manoj
The design says 6 lbs 12 oz, or about 2 Kg
I'm targetting 2.1-2.2 Kg
That will give me a Wing Loading of 17 oz/sq ft, or a WCL (Wing Cube Loading) of 8.2; sport model
Suggested suitable values for WCL are:
Gliders - under 4
Trainers - 6 to 7
Aerobatic - 9 to 10
Scale - 12 to 13
Racers - 15 and over
Sorry, typo. As per design, weight is 3 Kg

Sir,
Its coming out good. Fuse will be red / white ?
What is the propeller size you are planning on this.
And did you find a way to have RPMs same for both motors ?
regds
Saurabh
Thank you Saurabh
Fuse will be blue,as that is the only thicker corro I have ;)
I will be using 10 X 4.5 contra-rotating e-props
I have used two independent ESC's, powered by a single LiPo. I hope that will be reasonably accurate. The ESCs are the same brand/capacity etc.

That set me thinking...
Two similar ESCs, or one double capacity ESC to both motors?
Which would be better?
I don't have the theoretical knowledge to answer that.
I'm sure you'll try both and give us a real world answer...
Yes Pranavbhai..Sanjay Sir is the Master of making coro plane.. I have learn some techniques from him :salute: :salute: :salute:

A single ESC can be used to drive two motors. The only advantage of having two ESC's is that one can use the difference in thrust of the two engines to make turns.
(Using dual rates). Practically, one esc would be just fine.

Would need dual throttles. Or some complicated control system/mix

Dear Mr. Sanjay,
Its nicely built. Especially you added balsa to both nose and tail end makes more attractive.
How did you fix the motor mount to wings? Is it hot glue or epoxy? Is there any reinforcement done in motor mounts?
Thank you for your kind comments
By mount I presume you men the motor mount plate? This is made from 10 mm ply, and fixed with SR 998 Adhesive and screws. Epoxy does not work too well on many plastics including Corro
If you mean the nacelle (the complete motor housing assembly,) this is fixed on the wing with hot glue and screws
Ya I meant the whole motor housing assembly. Is fevicol synthetic adhesive is that much strong with coro & plywood? I will try it.
Going great... {:)} want to see it fly...
Thanks Sharlock. Even I do
Let's see, pretty near completion now

The main LG was too close to the prop. So dis some adjustment to the LG - shimmed it with a wood wedge

2 X 3300 mah

Sir, should you set Canopy for this nice build ?
Thanks Taitil bhai. No, no canopy etc.Mood nahi hai ;)
Sir,
Thought of a humourous suggestion, even took photo.
Refrained from posting in case you might actually be in an upset mood.
Regards as always...
Just post it (growl)
Another Beauty in the hanger.
Nice and clean build sir.

Suggestion for improving mood and making canopy at the same time:
Drink one bottle. Then cut its neck. Then divide it once vertically and once horizontally.
(Worst come to worst, you'll at least get one good dakaar from the exercise ;D)

I don't have the theoretical knowledge to answer that.
Using one ESC to power two bldc is not a good idea , as these are synchronous ESCs the ESC talks to the motor and I don't think that at any time instant , the angular position of the two motors will be same .. ... Hope I am not wrong

What has the angular position of the motors got to do with it? This is not a multi-copter
Successful maiden today

Comments: Flies very well indeed! Excellent slow fly characteristics, cruises at 30% throttle comfortably
It was taken off and trimmed by Group Captain Ramesh (retd.) flown by me, and landed by Nishad ;D
Needed a fair amount of down-trim, and showed a little tendency to climb under power. These suggest to me some downthrust is required
This concludes this build for the 2016 Sweepstakes, thanks for following
Sir, This was a excellent trial with twin engine. If i remember this is your 2 nd model with twin motors.
The Takeoff was soft and quick.
So now to the question of motors spinning at different RPM ( in a one battery 2 esc & two motors ) can be put to rest since the plane flew well.
Hope it did not have any turning tendencies.

Saurabh
Flies very well sir.
Seems a new ground !

Thanks Saurabh. No, no turning tendencies.
In fact, when I checked the Lipos after the flight, they both had discharged precisely equal amounts (I was using 2 X 3000 mAh 3S)

Update: added a little downthrust on both motors. Flies much easier now. Take-offs are just marvellous! Still flies at 30-40% throttle - pretty fast too ;)
