sir wing loading will be approx 20 oz/sq.ft....
it is little greater then what i thought that it should be like 13-17 oz/sq.ft...
i also think winglets should also play a major role in providing lift as they remove the tip vortex which provide drag so sir i think it should be okay
i know it is little close to sports plane wing loading but nothing can be done now....

Paint can wait.

Fly it first.
Then post videos.
Only then think of painting!

yash10896

@yash10896

i think you should consider very large ground for the first test flight it doesn't matter how far it is

So first of all Happy Independence day to all Indians on the forum :)

I finally got time to do the CF reinforcement on the bottom of the wing...
i got Cf flat rod from RCD and they was small in width then suspected :P
so used two of these flat rod and glued in ARC shape so that it can be more rigid also it was done in vertical postion as in vertical position it cannot bend horizontally making nearly impossible for the wings to bend due to force...
used gorilla glue as i ran out of araldite and today all shops are closed...
And the ARC shape idea arrived to me by viewing a video of flying wing on flitetest where they used gf rod for the same reinforment :)

Next is fiberglassing which is now extended for another week  :-\

Finally !! , I was just thinking about your plane yesterday !

K K Iyer

Yash
Butchery tomorrow?
BTW, in reponse to your pm, we were in Indira Nagar 1982-87, and in Gomti Nagar 1997-2009!
At least my family was, while i was elsewhere.
Still have an incomplete house in Lucknow full of vehicles and airplanes...

devangflyer

Wow ! Another lucknowan ! Whom had a secret identity  :giggle:

yash10896

Iyer sir i would feel honored to serve you while you are in lucknow...will show you cool places other than rc world :D
there have been drastic change in the look of city you would feel surprised..
i was in indira nagar from 1989-2004 in gov colony..sec 24 i think
and sir due to coaching(resonance) at 8-2pm i hardly get time to do anything after so much work of coaching..
thatswhy i am ignoring this project for a while because career is more important right now :)

Ashok baijal, co-winner of sweepstakes is another old Lakhnavi (>50 years),
now turned Bangaloori (1-2 years)

In 1983 or 84, i remember flying a demo for the CM On 26 Jan or 15 Aug at Butchery. NCC Air Wing gave me blue overalls (that i still have) to pretend i was part of their team.

The then NCC Air Wing boss was one Wing Commander Kondal, whose house was next to Baijal's and about 50 ft from mine in A Block, Indira Nagar.

Small world, isn't it?

K K Iyer

Devang,
Understood.
History has a place, but that place is somewhere else, not here, i guess. ;)
So no more...

yash10896

update it is :)

pushed my boundaries of time and exactly after reaching home and doing lunch i had put my time into this bird :D
coupling yesterday's and today's work i am posting here
i did the rest of the two dummy naccelles today and installed them on wing section..
this was important part to make a step towards fiberglassing..
now only i need to do some work on fuse's mid section and then its ready for fiberglassing :)
i also have a question Iyer sir does it requires two layer of 18g/m^2 or one will do the work??

@yash10896
Hard to say, but my experience is that even a single layer adds tremendous strength to foam, especially if the thickness of the wing is more than say 1/2-3/4".
Did you finally install a CF spar? If so, one layer should be enough.
Caution: do not test the wing by bending it till the resin is fully dried!
Use a plastic card to spread. Target is 10gms or less per sqft.
Beast of Luck!
Best
Oops.

yash10896

ROFL ...  Iyer sir "Beast of Luck"  :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Yes i have reinforced it with cf rod and will try to remove as much epoxy as i can :)
also can someone throw some light on how winglets on this plane will effect flight characteristic  :headscratch:
waiting for some knowledge to be gained and something to be learned
