Post by: aniket210696 on April 27, 2013, 08:23:56 PM
hey... i have a few dumb questions which i couldn't find the answer for.. (i searched) hope someone can help... :)

Q1: what will happen if i connect a 25-30A esc to a motor of recommended ESC 20A??? (or put a high Amp ESC to a low amp motor)
Q2: what will happen if i put a 6 x 4 Prop on a motor that has recommended size 10 x 4  ???

thanks,
Aniket

nothing will happen if u connect 25-30 A esc to a motor with recomended esc 20 A . its always good to keep small margin so that your esc should not become too hot or fry, while supplying max power to your motor.

normally motor with recommended prop of 10x4 have low kv. so if you connect 6x4 prop it will not give you enough thrust.

Ankit you must use an esc which is higher rated than the Max amp rating of the motor..  you can use a 100A esc with a 25 Max amp motor with ease... the only problem is weight and price..
And prop if a motor has a 10" prop recommendation it can work best with that prop.. using below that will decrease the performance...
