Hi everyone... wasaway from posting on the forum...( too lazy for it)
Meanwhile built acorocub and now working on an airbus a320...
The thing about this plane is that it is going to be built completely out of coro ( lack of availability of depron epp or high density thermocol...
Completed the wings section with reinforcement ( wooden strip caled neading in hardware stores)... also attached the edf mounts...
The beadig was too heavy so removed that and used coro again
A picture of the progress till now
Out of glue... meanwhile...getting busy with pusher glider... will resume this build tomorrow...
Any sugesstions
Wing section almost complete.. added ribs
Please help me to decide which control surfaces should I include in my first airliner...
I will be using rcb6i
Not including shaklets due to difficulty of construction...
Took inspiration from many build logs at RCG
They all were in depron...
I have never worked with depron till now, so I built it with coro
It is built to 1:30 scale
Wingspan 45 inches
Fuse length 49.3 inches
Fuse width 5.18 inches
Weight of wing section 255 grams
No response from the members?
best of luck.
are u doing some thing about landing gear.
No plans for retracts
if u go for fix.
are u u use hard wire or ready made reinforce plastic.
mine use umbrella wire for rear. and for nose cut from bicycle carrier spring.
Fuse skeleton ready...
Having a difficult time making the skin
Picture of the wing...
Wing dihedral...
Fuse skeleton pic tomorrow
Fuse skeleton pic
The dihedral brace is coming out... any sugesstions for a better one?
Make one using 1/2 inch wood dowels, I used the same for my Glidiator's wings.
I tried using the beading strips but the glue doesn't stick satisfactorily ( or I don't clamp properly...)
I nailed one to another but? He next moment there is a crack on one of the strips...
Use 5 minute epoxy
Any brand name?
You should spend some time reading the posts on this forum before asking
Improvised the wing... dihedral brace is strong now... used araldite..
The problem was improper clamping and lack of patience..Now I made the fuse skeleton but I am unhappy with it...
Can I use pvc gutterpipe ( round big pipe) for the fuse...it will be heavier but more crash resistant
Any comments on this?...
It will also be a new spad model
Trailing edge needs to be stuck at ends
The control surfaces are added
Control surfaces... flaps and ailerons
The 35" fuse pipe section alone weighs 1 kg... should I use it? I will try to get some lighter pipe of the same size
this just a suggestion.....
has any one tried using 2 pepsi or coke pet bottles??? .. the 1.5 or 2 liter one
should be much lighter in weight...and somewhat crashpoof
Oh... what an idea... thanks... but do you know how to join two bottles?
Cut the bottom of both the bottles...make a notch on one of the bottles...
then join both the bottoms of the bottles...
use any industrial grade glue Araldite ..... thn wrap it with a fiber tape....;) just for strength
u can try hot glue but i dont think its gonna be as strong ..
do post some pics if it works...
cheers
did u try the pet bottels for fuse???
Not yet.... will try it as soon as I get some bottles...and time..
I hope the construction gets ready soon wish you best of luck :)
Thanks
Due to issues in construction of fuse... I have decided to build a rather boxy fuse than a fancy round fuse...
After this flies well I will definitely remove this boxy one and try to get some depron to make a round one...
Wow!! Awesome thought! waiting to see it flying!! all the best for your construction.
Thanks a lot... I am also eager to make it fly soon...
Out of stolen coro... need to get some to resume building
Leading edge completed...
270 grams something wing section... + 2* 9 gram servos = Under 300 grams
Progress so far
how it should look...
Ambitious project. Don't bother about the comments/feedback. Just keep at it. All the best!
What is the fuse made out of?
Didn't make the fuse...
Its a pvc gutterpipe...
I will wrap coro around it and remove the pipe afterwards...
very nice best of luck
Thanks... no building tomorrow as going out of station
Restarted the work... left the wing in a dilapidated condition...
now renovating the wing.. boxy fuselage to be done soon...
I used very thin control surfaces and thy were not even placed properly... removed them and i am going to add new ones... should scale sizing of control surfaces do?
Great bro. Just a suggestion. Try contacting shantanu borate sir from mumbai here. Few days back he build a similar model using round thermocol tube. You can ask him where he got that. I remember he told me once he got it from a gift shop.
:hatsoff:
I am facing issues with the leading edge ... see the pics that follow...
Some problem while posting pics in phone due to low memory
Here is a depiction of the wing cross section...
can i use vinyl to make the leadig edge?
