This is the receiver i plan to use. I'm not sure if its micro or mini jst but i'm guessing the later. Also it states that this receiver is for ground and water, but i read reviews in hobbyking and many have used successfully in airplanes. I also got a fairchild 25" kit. I'm thinking of finishing them both and then go for maiden:-)

Also, i ve no idea about glow engines though i'd like to try it. Very noisy i suppose:-)

The receiver which you are planning to use in not 1S Lipo capable. I also doubt it may be more than 5gms with the plastic casing. It has only normal Servo Connector and does not have the JST socket so you will not be able to use those micro servos suggested and 1S setup. Go ahead with the current setup only by having control over the throttle end point.

Thank you Sundaram for your inputs. With the current setup i think i don't require any kind of modifications with the servo connectors...
For the FairCHILD 25", are you planning for glow or electric? I would like to know your thoughts if you're going to use electric....

Glow 0.049 will be too powerful for both Arrow and Fairchild.

I am planning for electric only. I will use a 4000 KV  3.1 gms brushless/ a geared brushed motor with 5/4" prop on a single cell lipo with plantraco four channel micro JST receiver posted earlier, 3A ESC. With 1.7 gms linier servo two of them.

My target AUW is less than 35 gms. I am planning to use water based ink with spray gun for paint. Which will further keep AUW less with paper provided. I am planning only a fair weather/ indoor model.

Hmm... that receiver is little too pricey for me... Moreover the shipping headaches. Was it ordered from the website directly or some other way? If it was available locally then I would have grabbed it. I saw Sujju referring to some micro servos, hope to see them soon in the website unless its already there. But this 4-channel receiver/ESC you have can be used with any 72Mhz tx or it requires a specialized one?

sundaram

The four channel receiver was ordered directly from plantraco web site www.microflight.com. It is a 900 Mhz receiver, need its own 900 Mhz plantraco Tx. It has its own built in brushed ESC of 2A capacity and can be used with any brushless ESC. The servos are from hobby king.

If you are planning to use a 72 Mhz Blue Arrow 3 gms four channel receiver is a good bet

Thank you again Sundar for the information. rcforall has the blueArrow receiver in stock. I think i should get one or two if you think its worth.
Also my hopes of maidening the cessna this weekend is fading away because there's still no word from the shipper of the 3 channel reciever. Hopping for atleast an acknowledgment that he has received my payment.

sundaram

If you are using a 72 Mhz, a Blue arrow micro receiver is a good buy.

I've a 72mhz wfly radio from rcforall bought about almost 2 yrs back. Have been using it  since then. I'll take a look at the bluearrow receiver in next month's budget!.:-)

Anyone has had any experience with thehobbyshop.in from kerela?

Hopefully the Rx was shipped on saturday, or that's atleast what the website says. Its delaying the project. Also i read few negatives about this website although not conclusive as many others have given good comment. May be I'm one of those unlucky ones. All i can do is wait and wait.

Also i've started the balsa skeleton for the Fairchild24. I'm trying to integrate ailerons in this one but read lots of negative comments in other forums about having ailerons in a dihedral high winged planes, but i'm gonna give it a try.

Hello everyone! Guess what! I got the reciever and binding to the fs-th9x was a snap. Used the supplied bind plug and power from ESC to bind it. Did some stick configuration changes to match the 3-channel rx and all looks good. Would it harm to try flying without covering the windows using the transparant shields provided? I'm finding some difficulties in figuring out a way to fit it. The shield stays on the fuse or fix it to the detachable wings? By the way the rx weighs 6gms with the plastic case.
