Here is the Build Log I had promised Sujju I would upload
The fuse build is fairly straightforward (once you figure out which part is which :) )
Wing build again is fairly standard
Balsa quality and die cutting quality is good. Wing is built in the normal way, ribs, spars, sheeting
I wasn't too happy with the Dihedral Braces with the kit, so modified them
Tapered & rounded the Aileron backs for easy rotation
Reinforced the wingtips (for my special landings ;))
Made & fitted Servo Trays for the Ailerons
Motor, Aileron Cross section, Servo tray with Cable Tie
Tail section, Fuse base showing servo tray & re for L/G, the weighing in
Monokote clone. I've found 2 pices of tape at right angles and a firm yank are the easiest way to remove the backing film ;D
AUW with 2200 mah LiPo and L/G, motor but without monokote was 662 gms. Not bad!
More pics & test flight to come soon ;D
Sanjay sir....
Test flight.. (:|~ (:|~ (:|~ (:|~
Soon, Arun!
fantastic sanjay... looking forward for completion of this thread (with a flight video) .. :)
sujju
Classic!
Thanks Sujju & VC. There is a certain purity of aeromodelling when building a balsa kit :thanks: :D :D
Assembled model (the Cub Lightning Sticker & Numbers still pending)
Used transparent monokote (clone) Not such a good idea, every little defect gets highlighted :o 8-) :-[
beautiful build...
Thanks, Sujju
great build, transparency is adding to the sex appeal ;)
Thanks Gusty ;D. Only problem is every flaw, every bit of spilt cyano, every pencil mark shows up, actually gets highlighted :giggle:
Sanjay sir any video of this beauty.
Hi Swizera, unfortunately not yet. Haven't had time to maiden yet. Maybe the shubh mahurat will be this Sunday :)
I noticed RCB sold out it's stock of this model. Would love to compare notes with anyone else on this forum who built it.
Nice build
My similar kit which I picked up from HK is still pending for build. Hoping to catchup.

Couldn't maiden: I screwed up, or rather unscrewed up by forgetting the servo arm screws on the aileron servo :).....I thin my own screw needs tightening ;D ;D
BTW: how does one put thumbnails from Google pics?
Sir Use the insert Image tab right under the Italics tab which is between Bold and Underline tab above.
Insert the web address of image in between the inner brackets like img]here[img

Thanks Sandy. You should make one now...I'm sure you would improve a lot on my build
The Fylingdale Flyer! This Aeroplane will pass with Flying Colours. I've been following this build from the First Post. Maybe you could name her 'Pied Piper'! Batteries Not Included as yet?
Cheerio!

This model crashed on take-off. It was my first electric build, and second electric model. I overpowered it.
After gathering dust for a year, I decided to fix it :D

Hello can you pl give electronic mix used in this flying beauty?
2826-1400 with 30 A ESC & 8*6 prop. All servos 9 gm
Sir - Could you help me with the landing gear specifications on this please? Size of the wheels in terms of dia x breadth x axle size? front and rear both. The kit I ordered from HK doesn't included a landing gear so need to figure these out myself.
OK
Are you looking for the Undercarriage used in this?

Not really...the link you posted previously was good enough!! It'll be my first balsa diy plane so simpler is better!! Thanks a ton... :)
Can you please put that back!!!
I removed it for a reason
Since you are the expert...could you pls suggest the most appropriate one?

Available other places too, RCD, RCB, HK etc.
Many thanks!!
Since the site crashed and my two threads got dumped meanwhile thought I should catch up on the old pending build. Took out the piper twin kit.
Planning two identical ASP hornet 0.15 on both. Still working on how to go about with engine mount. Bumping this thread up for my own reference and sharing my build log sir.
Fuse structure is over. Needs UC and mount. Will commence on the wings. Seems I have misplaced Wing dowels.
Any pointers will be most appreciated.
Sandy - it will be grossly overpowered with a 15! Use a 09. I cropped it with a 2836-1400, about 300 watts. Flies well at 150 Watts. AUW with a 2200 was about 700-800 gms I think
Roger that Sir. Will complete both and then reconsider power plant. This has to be on an engine though.

Piper twin???
From the photo, looks like it might be one wing with
two fuselage(s).
Is that what it is?
Or just a pair of independent Cubs?
Regards
Two independent cubs sir. ;D
