Hi everyone,
Here is my Scratch build 3 channel coro glider "DREAMER"(named it so because it was my first and was my dream to build!)
SPEC:
Wing Span - 1500mm(235gms)
Chord Length - 200mm/ 8"
Fuse Length - 900mm(230gms)
COMPONENTS
I had all these components from my tri-copter build and i used the same here.
Motor - odin 2210 1200Kv(45gms) Should say these are one screwed up motors :giggle: I recommend you not to buy it... either the grub screws gets loose or worst the bell comes out! :o (And that's other part lets come back to the build)
ESC - 40A(40gms)
Battery- 2200mAh, 3S Li-po(165gms)
Servo - 9g X 2 (18gms)
AUW - 750gms
Wing Loading - 7.8 Oz/Sqft
WING DESIGN
Wing is 3mm coro
Airfoil- Kfm 2 (made a mistake! the step should have been at 50% and it is at 40% But still it flies well though!)
The center wing is 1 mtr and the polyhedral is 25 cms and it is angled at 15degrees. It has 5mm CF rod placed at the step. Metal braces are inserted at the polyhedral angle in the wings.
POD DESIGN
I had a half-inch antenna rod 800mm in length lying around and also half-inch Styrofoam piece from my tilt-wing plane(the project was completely screwed though!)
the length of the pod is 43cms from motor to the trailing edge of the wing. The pod can also be build with thermacol piece.
The pod has a space for battery,Rx, ESC and the extension cables for the servos, the ESC lies outside so it gets cooled when in the air.
Elevator and rudder are made of 3mm coro.keep the flutes in vertical position rather than horizontal. It provides stiffness i made a mistake here too!
the servos are mounted on the boom with zip ties closer to the stabilizer.
Should say the wing is kind of indestructible!
Hats off to coro! :hatsoff:
