The Big Nasty is an Aerobatic 3D Type model, built with Fan Fold Foam
It's on RC Groups, and our very own Ashta has also built it with a Corro Fuse and Foam wing.

Is it a profile plane?
Wait and see ;)
Corro does not have the structural strength, being anisotropic, to build a profile. It's bending resistance is poor unless a structure is created

Used a 2826-1400 motor. Will use a 9*47 SF prop. That's all I have :'(
Ideally would have preferred a 200~250 W motor, about 800-1000 KV, capable of swinging an 11 X 4.5 or so prop :(

Small and cute. {:)}
Neither big nor nasty.
Why, thank you Iyer sir :salute:
What do you suggest for the powertrain? I'm not too happy with a 1400 KV motor. The other option I have is a HK Donkey motor, about 1050 gm thrust, @ 730 KV. Maybe use an 11*6 or something???

Come on sir, Its a 3D. Get it beefed up!... :P
Nice build. I would love to see it in a red-blue colour scheme
@sanjayrai55 sir,
That 2826-10 1400 kv is 205 watts. 3s 7x4, 2s 9x4.7
780gms thrust.
Not enough?
What is the weight with servos but without motor, prop, esc and battery?
I have a new 2830 1000kv, 210 watts, 10x7 on 2s, 8x4 on 4s, 890gms thrust claimed.
Also have a DYS 2836 1120kv which is about 300 watts.
If you need either, will send.
Regards.
Sir where do you get these amazing corro sheets from, tried searching alot but couldnt find any sellers around delhi.
Ps - amazing build sir,you are like the "shatabdi",so fast and quick :p
We people are like goods train :P. Always shatabdi and rajdhani gets the signal. Iyer sir is like rajdhani express. :P
Iyer sir, I have managed a 2836-1100 KV. Plan to use that with an 11*5.5 E Prop
Right now working on the controls - need about 45 degrees travel on the surfaces. Will put the control surface side of the pushrod in the bottom hole of the horn; may have to extend the servo arms (How :headscratch: :headscratch: ???)
Using a servo arm radius of 1.5 times the control horn radius should do the trick.
Will use a different design of Horn - an adjustable height horn >:D
Where did you get that sir? (:|~
Bought it from HK about 6-8 months ago. Had some few grams left in postage limit, and thought that maybe some day they would be useful :D
Thank you sir. :hatsoff:
A small query, once I ordered push rod snap connectors from HK, I got the GWS product, the problem is my pushrod(cycle spoke that i use 2-3mm i think) does not go in the hole in it :banghead:. Its undersize. So, have to make Z bends etc which is quite hectic.
I've got 2 packs of it and won't be placing any order in the coming days. Any way to fix that?
:hatsoff:
@rchobbyindia- please post it in the right thread. you could not just post your sales anywhere. There is a proper sales section over here and you can start a new thread in it.
Utkarsh you could run a 2 mm drill through them. I do it sometimes when the hole has not been properly drilled. But those GWS ones are meant for smaller diameter wires
Exactly.. I was also planning same thing. GWS comes in two pack A and B as i read in the manual. The B one is for above 2mm.
Thank you sir.
:hatsoff:
Set the throws to where they should be for 3D flying. Used different (adjustable) horns for Rudder and Elevator
Now the model is 3D capable, unfortunately I am not :-[ :giggle: :giggle:
Waiting for props. I finally went a 2826-1120 KV from RCB, on which I will use a 11*5.5 prop. Should give about 1.3 Kg thrust, model weight is 850 g with 2200 mAh LiPo
Will put some decoration later
Glad you didnt choose the HK donkey.
It really didnt produce 1000+ grams of thrust. its not even able to lift a model of 650gms Auw.
i had one from hobby sea, mine is rated 1700KV. and regret that i bought. still using my emax 2812.
the magnet/motor can/shaft of donkey all are poor type. some magnets even came rusted.!!!. they should have made some epoxy work on the coil to prevent rewinding.
the mount is some form of hard aluminium and it bent slightly when i heated it with domestic gas burner in a desperate attempt to rewind it.
the 4mm shaft bent on the second nose crash. if we use a 10x4.5 prop as per recommendation the motor heated up lot as if its going to cook. 750rs in the drain.
Ashok.P
Yup Ashok. That donkey is vague. On paper it is good for this model, with the high thrust/low rpm, capable of swinging a large 12" prop. But I did not use it because with connectors and wires it weighs about 115 grams! But 730 KV is good, and it does swing a 12*6 prop without heating up, pulls low current too.
Good for a large wing area slow flyer trainer
Maidened her today. Arvind was the Test Pilot
First maidened at 40% throws
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma64wRGb2ys# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma64wRGb2ys#)
Now tried it at 100% throws. They were a little high, maybe reduce aileron/rudder to about 80% or so

After a successful maiden, put some clothes on her ;) :giggle:

Pretty, ain't she;)
Iyer sir and I are starting a "Dirty Old Men" club :D :D
I nave been building with Coro for 2 years now, but this is the best Coro plane i have seen yet.
That is very kind of you :D:D
My own personal favourite is the Spadstick I built last year. The Debonair and my last Avispad aren't too bad too ;)
That's a pretty model and great flier Sanjay Sir. {:)} {:)} {:)}
Thank you sir! :D :D
Sanjay Bhayya, dont know how I missed this thread! Cool stuff :salute: Liked the fuze construction method and the way you managed it to perfection. {:)} {:)} When I saw the maiden videos, to be frank with you my hands were itching to fly it :D
Hey Sam, thanks :hatsoff:
