hello,
Tried making this cub using info from
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291173&page=58
used 3mm coro for the fuse and the tail. Made folding techniques and the whole fuse was one piece cut and two folds.
The Wing is made of 6mm Depron.
Only packing tape decoration.
AXn 2306 motor from Hobby city, rewound.
18A Esc
9 gram servox2, will add aelerons after maiden.
Assan rcvr
1050mah, 3cell
AUW= 450 grams.
WS= 28.4 inches.

Bit more decoration and finish pending.
An experimental cowl made of Depron and packing tape put. Have idea to make it better/ wrinkle free after the maiden.

Intend to maiden it in two days and will post videos.

pl see the photos attached.

Congrats Sir, as usual! Do you have any plans for this? Ideally wanted to know the score lines for the fuselage folds.

Warm regards,

VC

thanks VC.
for plans just open the following link. it is in the first page itself.

There is no score lines marked in tghe plan and the plan is for depron.
I just placed the bot, top, and side pieces on coro, marked the score lines, scored them and folded to get the fuselage in one piece.

thanks once agin

As usual awesome work from Ashta sir! Wow.. Its turned out really neat! I'm inspired by your work and will surely attempt a cub one day when I have more building+flying experience.. Sir do you have any pics of the fuse and wing build?

Dorwin, I tried every stationary shop in Margao and most in Panaji.. I took along with me a piece of depron/biofoam that Prateek13 had give me.. None of the stationary shops had ever seen this kind of material..  :banghead: So I doubt it will be available in Goa.. If you are buying any from Maharashtra, get some for me also  ;D

Did you check with JD Fernandes?
theres a place near JD Fernandes, just opposite the Muncipal garden its where raikar cycle shop is,
below that place is a stationary selling all painters stationary, you may find it there.
you can also ask around with the people who make frames for potraits, they too may have some knowledge. Seems like what they say about us is true, we only "drink beer and eat fish and enjoy life" who cares what depron or foam is...except us guys!!
And where did prateek find it from??

:giggle: Ha Ha.. Completely true! Being extra sussegado ("quiet, tranquil, calm, peaceful; without a care. Laid back.") is a prerequisite for being a Goenkar (Goan) i guess  ;D

Anyway, I tried with the photo frame guys, they just use normal thermocol sheets. I had checked JD Fernandes before I had the sample piece and they did not have.. so will check again.. Prateek13 got his sheets from Delhi..

Here is a video of the maiden.
Video is not uptothe mark. Just a proof that it flies. Also my headcam was not aligned properly.
Observations:
1. Enough power and i was on 1/2 throttle thru out.
2.little CG issue which i have to sort out. (also during the flight i was trimming a lot and so pl ignore the quality of flying.)
3. enough indication that it will be a smooth flier once CG issue is resolved.

Also i forgot the tool box and stuck in the feild, even w/o a screwdriver. The prop adapter was loose and could not do any further fine tuning. will post a better video later..
thanks for watching.

Do you have any intermediate stage photos of the build (like just after cutting coro into the required shapes/pieces etc) ?  Or all the pieces laid out before being glued together ?

Nice plane, should work great for beginners, especially if built a little bit bigger.
Hangar : Please see my introduction.

Ashta

thanks anwar. but i did not take any intermediate photos since i thot that this will be a proto.
it takes lot of abuse since the fuse is coro.
