Posting these pictures in a hurry. Will update the specs soon.

Kit was laser cut by V.K. - excellent job done!
Painted by my daughter Indrakshi and I. This is a Dad and Daughter project!

All electronics in place but the wiring is a mess. Will post more pictures later today, once I sort that out.

Cheers!

That's one fierce looking jet  {:)}

Thats scary color scheme. I bet you have invested more time painting than building the model.

I had etched lines for detailing on the fuselage and wings, however, they have been mostly masked out by the paint.

Bicycle push rods, Scratched hinges, CF and kebab skewer reinforcements............
Servos held in place using the best quality 3M Double sided tape.

VC

Horn connectors from domestic electric plugs. The fastening nut was dremelled out from a plug pin and held in place with Loc Tite. Will try and post a series of pics detailing the process, if required.

Missile racks are the easiest to break, so I reinforced them with CF.

All assembly was carried out before attaching the fuselage. It is easier this way. The entire wing remains flat and it is much easier to adjust and align everything.

Assembly completed. Painting begins.

Painting continues...............to think of it now, black and white tiger stripes would've also been an interesting contrast. :headscratch:

AMRAAM Missiles have been scratchbuilt and painted. They will be mounted soon to complete the model.

Woooow... amazing tiger stripes... What kind of paints did you use?

VC

Fevicryl Golden Yellow, Matt Black Enamel (Blackboard paint) and Battleship Grey Enamel. All enamel paints had to be thinned down with turpentine. Nitrocellulose (NC) thinner would have destroyed the Depron.

Ohk. So that is the AUW of the plane? Any changes in CG due to paint?

VC

AUW is 438 grams. Paint shouldn't make a significant difference, I guess. Time will tell.

VC sir,
I was browsing through Facebook and I seen an update from RC India.
I clicked on the link and was pointed to a awesome profile build and one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen on RCI.
Well done my pal!
Steady hands I must say!!
Keep us updated!!

"steady hands"  :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Kindly note that the pictures have been deliberately kept at a low res to avoid ahowing up all the smudges and imperfections!

However, all your congratulations will be gratefully passed on to Mademoiselle Indrakshi. She did a GREAT job, her old man messed up!

Guess who will maiden her? Lt. Col. Sundaramvelar at AVS on or about the 27th.of Sept. If she flies well, I am a good builder. If she doesn't, Sandy is a lousy flier! I hope he doesn't read this. :giggle:

Jokes apart, Sandy is an awesome flyer, anyday, anywhere. I've seen him flying myself. The best part is that he is completely self taught. From scratch!
