I was having a twin motor airplane some time before i cant remember if it servos so my question is -DO TWIN MOTOR AIRPLANES HAVE SERVOS???

asinghatiya

Well if that twin motor plane was costing between 800 to 1500 bucks.. ;D then no servos. only differential rotating speed of the motors were used to divert it.

My First 'RC' Plane... and such a disaster.. these motors usually dont have a 'proportional' differential. Pull the stick and either of the motor STOPS!! I had frequent tip stalls and could fly only straight (some what)..
Stay away from such planes unless you are not serious to be in this hobby for any longer..

Even more than that you don't even have control over the pitch and guess what due to the lack of proper knowledge, i had paid Rs3500 for the piece of junk.

Hey iv seen a twin motor micro rc fly. It costs Rs.1500 and was ok ok. Indoor only ofcourse. But it didnt fly level - when one has to make a turn , altitude reduces (quit a lot).

The those cheap chinese one are fun. I had one from CC lee (purchased for a song in crashed state) repaired the wing with a few length of bamboo and it was fun to fly, In fact I had to be carefull not to put into strong thermal else it would never come down in one piece.
Used to carry this along to the flying field, get it high up and give the tx to kids around. Kind of trying to get them interested

I usually look for these cheap stuff only for repair parts and electronics..

No, This has no servo, for Level flight, throttle is appx about 10-15% (Dependent on Battery).
Differential speed can easily be adjusted with the right top side POT adjustment (Not always in same position but it becomes common in rescent chinise planes and helis.

Two twin motor plane link (China based) is given below.

You see, the almost same 19.95$ 3 Channel IR Helli is sold for Rs 600-800/- and the same priced plane (as not flooded the market )costs around Rs 2100/-(Appx.) Slow flyer planes are coming and prices are slashed less than international and this is because of IR Control.

In my opinion, the cheap planes like this is very much useful to attract more people. Till Quantity not increase, the item-wise cost will not be reduced in INDIA.

Just make a survey, Ask blackberry/iPhone customers about their first cell phone cost. Surely less than 5000/- and the first phone is not Blackberry/iPhone.
======>>> Similarly just ask or make a survey about the first plane/glider/heli cost.
I request Anwar Sir to call the survey and voting. This will be very interesting and surely give different ideas and history and even very emotional situation too.
1) Cost of First Model.
2) Type of Model (Heli/Plane/Glider)
3) Powered/Non powered (If powered, Electric/Gas/Fuel).
4) Sponsor of first plane/heli.
5) First memorable flight show/visit.
6) First Flight Experience.

++++ Lots of more that may come from the most experienced aero-modeler Anwar Sir.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

Yes, these planes do seem like they can serve a purpose.  But people need to realize that they are toys with no spares support (just like most toy helis).  As you rightly said along with Captain Manish, they can attract people better (as compared to toy helis).

And regarding how people started, this should be the right place to discuss that :

I hope more and more people share their stories here !

Please note that I am a relative newbie in this field. I only spent time getting up to speed on helis (both flying and setting them up).  There are people here who started aeromodelling before I was born !

Do not mistake the effort/time I spend on posting here (especially when newcomers ask the same questions repeatedly) as my "experience" !  Take anything I say with a grain of salt ;)

This is what i was reffering to :

Here is a post from a true veteran (Rao-ji) highlighting this.  This was in the early days of this forum !

And here is why they are bad... when people think they are just as capable as planes with control surfaces and bring them to the field asking others for help :
