Thanks to Sanjay for inspiration on building coro planes...

Our new project that started last year was finally completed this month.

All thanks to you Sanj... For getting me into Coro scratch/ plans building.

As Electrowatt is completed, next project has started... Cherokee; my best flying IC plane with an Irvine 61. Have had it for about 12-15 years, it is a dream to fly.

However has not seen the skies for over 18 months. We didnt get much of a summer this year too. When we did get some good weather, I could not go to the field as our planning council license permits IC on weekdays only.

Will be starting a new post on that..

;)

Hello Sir's,
Sanjay, Deepak, Allan.

This is a very good built .... but it nowhere looks like coro...!!!!

how is that gloss finish and no coro flutes seen on edges (what have you done there ).

Are there any ply former's in wings and fuse ?

Hi Saurabh,
It's been covered with packaging tape hence one cannot tell it's Corro. Decals are all Solar film. Formers in ply and balsa.

This is what my original Acro-Wot by Chris Foss looked like... 61 sized IC. Highly aerobatic and very fast plane. Had it for over 15 years.

Thanks Manoj...

Finally managed to test it out yesterday. It was a cloudy day with slight breeze. Our site's planning license allows max 70db on Sundays.
Tested it on 14 x7 prop and 4 cell and the reading was 74db... Flying the Electro was out of window till some one suggested how about trying with 13x8 prop.. Did that same thing.

However was delighted to get readings around 69db on 3 cell.
Model balanced with a heavier 4 cell so had to add extra 100 grams noseweight to compensate for the weight difference.

So we did have a flight...

This is how it flew;

Just needs a few tweaks and will fly again very soon...

Chuffed with the outcome.  ;D

True Sanj. It was a big relief to see it actually doing the job it was made for.

Some more images of the build log.
