Title: F22 Raptor - RCBazaar - Will it fly?
Post by: vishalrao on November 24, 2012, 09:47:41 AM
I had bought F22 Raptor (with motor) (http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/605-f22-raptor-includes-motor.aspx) from RCBazaar sometime back but didn't have time to assemble it. I finally got to assemble it but the power setup seems to be way inadequate. There is hardly any thrust in the system. The ESC used is brand new Turnigy Plush 60A. So there is no chance of ESC not performing. I'm attaching a short video below. Can someone please let me know judging from the video whether this model will fly? The throttle is at full power.

The build quality too is way below par. Had to do lot of alterations while assembling the model. The EDF unit too vibrates a lot. Pretty much disappointed.

HI
vishalrao ,

I too Had the same plane from RC bazaar, and performance of motor is much poor. its not creating much thrust so that the plane can lift. and never got time to upgrade it. i searched motors for upgrading the duct but didnt got motors. so using that plane as display only.

Thanks for chipping in sabya. This is really sad. Actually my brother had invested in this as he wanted to own a Raptor (RC, if not a real one), although he doesn't know to fly RC planes. I don't intend to make this a Rs. 7000 display piece.

if you are using B26 Duct motors, its really got low thrust.
but if you use B36 duct motors, it can have enough thrust. And F-22 will have enough thrust to lift off .

The motor included is B36 outrunner. I'll have to try running the setup with a 6s setup (2, 3S in series).
