I purchased this http://manuals.hobbico.com/flz/flza3602-3604-manual.pdf RTF plane from RCD quite sometime back and never flown it till date.
It known as an RX-R meaning receiver ready all you got to do is plug in your choice of receiver and its ready to fly (or is it not) ? I don't know yet and need your guidance to do a safe maiden. I don't know why they just couldn't call it ARTF or RTF  :giggle:
In the past I have rushed into maidens and regret it. Hence I wish to do all necessary mods/upgrades pre flight safety measures not to ruin it as I also put in a lot of time and effort to paint the plane.

I have heard an upgraded prop would help. 10x6 I believe
What battery should I use ideally and why? CG position
I have heard that the esc is no good and causes jitters sometimes (I have some 20 amp esc's and a few 30amp ones lying around) can they be used?

If anyone owns this EP please share your thoughts.
Thanks.

Today might be a great and wonderful day. It depends on you.

the manual is more than enough for the maiden!! and get the cg forward as much as possible with the given range(already mentioned in the manual)!! this is a sports model , for the maiden dont go for much aerobatics unless your sure of it!!! and replace the stock prop, control horns etc.... if quality not good, and use less throws on the control surface!! this should go good for the maiden!!the 9x4.5 will do good!!

JK

Try rcgroups if you are looking for information on upgrades/mods etc. I to have recently flown a Rx-R model and the recommended battery capacity was too under rated and set your control throws to Low rates

Exactly why I asked Sahil, had a similar problem with the Multiplex shark the throws were very high and the battery they recommended feels stressed.

doesn't the RX-R come with motor/esc/prop ?

Yes it comes with motor 30 amp esc and 9x4.5 prop all servos installed just the one piece wing needs to be fixed with a nylon bolt to the fuselage. I did check the inventory - It has some velcro and battery strap with bolt for the wing some spare hardware. No manual though.
It has dual control surface for elevator one was fixed the other needs to be glued. The push rods are not in line and need to be aligned to both surfaces of the elevator and move together.

Agree the manual is great unlike a lot of Chinese- english ones. It does have a lot of info but I was wondering if anyone got this from RCD and flew it could give a hands on experience / share a review. I will be flying after very long break except some sim practice and prior to this bird have flown the Multiplex Easy star II.
I want to avoid damaging this as it has a front prop.
The quality seems decent comparable to a Multiplex maybe a few notches below but not cheap at all.

Thanks Sahil and JK!

useful like - discussions on flyzone millennium master.

In your case oem esc may be hit or miss, check aileron servos Y-harness, stock prop/battery seems to be fine.

Bang on Sahil. I also thought the esc and all electronics with wiring pre should be checked properly before a flight.
Thanks for sharing the link.
