Building a warbird, spitfire. Has a wingspan of 42.5".Build will be with full fuse and out of corro. :)
Specification
Cf2822 motor
3cell 2200mah lipo
30amp esc
9g servos
So, let the build start! Spit-fire!
Cutting out the fuse.
Completing the fuselage.
Added formers to strengthen the fuse.
Good Going...... by the way.... the ones used in wings are called Ribs just like in a human body the ribs give the aerofoil shape to the wings. The ones used in fuselage are called 'formers' i.e. they give the desired 'form' i.e. shape to the fuselage.....
Thanks shobhit sir, corrected it. ;D
Making the horizontal stabilizer. The hinge is made by cutting one long flute of corro for free movement.
Vertical stabilizer made.Tail section joint together. :)
Some decals applied. ;) Used color tapes.
That's fast ... Great going ...
:thanks: doc
Wing construction. Groove is made in the wing and stuck with CA, this gives it nice aerofoil! ;)
I suggest you put a CF rod in one of the flutes.
Good build overall
Kiran... the Spitfire has been the aircraft i have adored all my life. a few times I did get my chances to take pictures of the Real Spitfire at the Vintage Flight of the IAF at AF Stn Palam. Well wish i could get to be in the cockpit of one. Well I am planning to build a static model of the spitfire for my Drawing Room.... lets see when i get the time to do that.
Your build is coming out just too well..... I wish it flies like a true model.
Best Wishes
 thanks topalle, will be adding a 3mm cf rod.
Shobhit sir, thanks, yes it should fly well. ;) ;D
Wing mounted on fuselage.
Made my own wheels too! They are out of Styrofoam and are sanded with fine grit sandpaper.
Making the motor mount out of Styrofoam and pcb.
Mounted on the fuselage using hot glue.
Motor and speed controller. ;D
Make a few cooling holes in the coro for the esc to stay cool.

With 30amp esc it does not become warm. Max amp of motor is 25amp.
Made the tail assembly using cycle spoke. Mounted it on 3mm balsa using CA.
Reinforced wing with 3mm cf. Landing gear made out of cycle spoke. Wheels are custom made. ;D
Landing gear added :)
Made servo holder using 3mm balsa.
Looking very nice plane Kiranbhai
Without electronics, it must be very light weight.
:hatsoff: :hatsoff:

Thankyou! yes quite light, maybe around 150gram without electronics
Added the servos and pushrods.
Some more.
Making the rear cover. Flat piece of corro is folded by creasing the folds. Formers are added for holding the structure and strengthening.
Attached the rear cover.
Nice job and decals Kiran u can use smaller battery if you have for maiden, as 2200 mah is heavy 200 grams
Thanks! The AUW is not going to be around 200gram. It may weigh around 400 gram. ;D
Ok. Todays progress. Made the turtledeck.
Great Work...!!
Thanks Vishal. :thanks:
Looks neat !!! Nice build Kiran
Thanks Praveen sir :D
Kudos to Kiran! This is a fine build: Corro is not as easy to work with as depron/foam/balsa.
Really well done! :salute:

Seems tail heavy
May be a little sir, but the wind made the controls very twitchy.
