Built a Flitetest Versa Wing Pusher.
It will be used afterwards for fpv....
Thanks to Aniket for finding the source of biofoam and Flitetest for designing this easybuild wing.
I have 2 motors lying around and I cant decide which one to use on the wing. I have the bixler 1.1's 1900 kv motor and a hobbyking 2812/10 1400kv motor.... which one should I use?

Just finished with installing the servos, ESC and motor mount. ;D
Also made a battery pocket and receiver pocket.
Nice!!
Is that biofoam or foamboard (without or with paper backing)
Its biofoam without paper backing
great build!!! made by prateek13 but questions answered by rcguru :giggle:
tell us how she flies ;) guru (:|~
Logged into the account on my pc.... anyway the foam is really good!
Nice build Prateek. Eager to visit your place one day and check out.
Have you been flying since we last met?
No flying but had made a few hovercrafts and boats. Now I am building the T-copter again. So I will have to come there.
dude! use the bixlu ka motor... you can use that chotta 5 inch prop....
Using the bixler motor with a 6x4
Btw aniket I was able to remove the godforsaken date stamp ftom the camera :P
Has anyone tried waterproofing biofoam? Like flitetest do by using minwax...
your cams lens is fine??? put a pic of the carcass!!! :D
Will put the pic soon! The plane didn't perform good so I had to put it to rest! :P
FPV near my place, Vainguinim Valley!
you don't need to waterproof biofoam... it's unlaminated... the min wax is for waterproofing the paper....
Sent from a potato using a lamp - now mashed
The unlaminated one isn't very good afterall..
@prateek, it's something.... beggars can't be choosers

Did this plane fly well and is it good for doing fpv how much was the overall weight of it. A flying video would be great.
sorry nitesh.. this plane is "temporarily not operational (forever)" I'm sure prateek would be happy to divulge the details... ::);):P:D;D

Is it a Crash
No. It didnt fly good.... I think.
i only get 8mm biofoam in udaipur. I made versa wing from it, it seems to be too heavy.
2200mah 3s lipo
birdie 20A esc
hextronik 9g servos
prop 8*4.5
hextronik blue wonder 1300kv motor
hobbyking 200mw 900mhz fpv system with 500mah 3s lipo
the weight without any batteries is 450g. what should i change, prop? motor? any help would be appreciated.
Could you please guide me on how to bend biofoam as i want to build a full airfoil and i have 6mm biofoam.
for the versa wing, i scored it 50% and bent it. Packaging tape was used to make it strong. But, mine is too heavy, i think. I am not sure.
The main problems with Flying wings design is that, they are very difficult to balance. getting right CG is very difficult. The only option left is to put heavy lipo at the front , which further increases the weight and flying characteristics also.
You cannot bend this biofoam. If you want to make an airfoil then simply cut the foam and then keep them together and apply a piece of fiber tape along the cut. Once you have set the desired shape(by making multiple cuts) apply hot glue inside the cavity on the opposite side if the taped edge.
you CAN bend it... if you want a smooth aerofoil, use 3mm biofoam for the top of the wing, and 5mm for the bottom. now glue only the leading edge of the 3mm biofoam, and slowly bend it backwards, while having a friend heat it with a hairdryer (or leave the sheet in the sun for an hour) this will help it curve nice and smooth... dont forget to reinforce the leading edge afterwards with tape!
hope this helps
regards
aniket
Aniket- I am talking about the one which I used, 5mm.
You cannot bend it
