Friends this is common problem with me.. that is of burning esc and motors :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :help: :help: :help ...i have so far burnt around three setups only the most simplest plane of all.....Can anyone suggest me the full power  power system for my slow stick...as today also i burnt my motor

motor i had been using was fc 2822
HK 25-30 amp esc
GWS 1047 prop
zippy 2200mah 3s lipo
have burnt around 3 setups like this and the cost of my electronics burnt has reached above the cp of the plane...So asking people who have flown this plane, what power system they used as i am in no position to invest more in electrics ..so will be buying my last setup of electronics for this plane

thank you :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The thing to realize is that even the most experienced electric folks (people like Ashta bhai) use a wattmeter to see what exactly happens in terms of current draw on their setups.

You really need to get one, and use it !

Just curious, what is the AUW of your plane with that battery ?

Switch to Mystery ESC, i just love them, almost impossible to destroy. I have replaced all my escs with mystery and bought a programming card for it.

2822 for slow stick.............huhhhhhh its toooooo overpowered for a slow stick. full throttle might bend the wings of slow stick...
22xx motor with 20 amp esc and 1000 mah 3cell is more then enough for a slow stick....

Fly high if you have good set of batteries.....!

Almost everyone at our field fly slowstick and almost everyone uses this motor for it:

Towerpro 2410-12T

I use this motor with mystery 30A, 1800 Turnigy 3S 20C, GWS RD 11X4.7 Or 10x4.7

Has worked well for me till now

Just have a look at this url : http://www.flybrushless.com/motor/view/569.

You will find that you are using the wrong prop. Ideally you should use an APC SF 7x4 or 7x5 prop which should give you the maximum efficiency. But then you may find the velocity or forward speed too high. Therefore the best compromise would be a 8x4 prop. The 2822/24 1450Kv motor is meant for a maximum of 10 amps. Even a 9x4.7 would work out nicely. With a prop of 10x4.7, the load required by the motor to rotate would go up considerably above the maximum limit of both the motor and the esc.

I assume that the motor that you have got is similar to the spec in the URL above.

I too have a SlowStick. I am using a Roxy motor with a 1200Kv and 3SP1 2200MaH battery, 20amp ESC and a 9x4 prop. The handling is very good. Earlier I was using a 2408 with a 1200MAH battery and 10x4.7 prop which I later reduced to 9x4, because I felt that the motor was heating up. Eventually, I had a motor burnout. With the Roxy motor I have plenty of power and no issues of motor heating.

There is no point is getting disappointed here. Rather, I would suggest learn from your mistakes and make life beautiful.

Exactly, its all matter selecting the right motor prop combo. On a slow flyer, if your motor is heating up then you are wasting battery power, its better to prop down in that case.

its 1200KV motor and is pullling 18 amp ...as observed in turnigy wattmeter

If you have not already bought your electronics, why don't you buy a tested setup like the one suggested by bokilap.
