Hi all,
This is my first ever RC Plane.
As I am new I decided to build this trainer.
Its a 33" Blu Baby with 2" Monoblock.

I have used Bio-Foam for the entire plane.

Electronics used :

Towerpro Brushless bell motor
HXT 900 9g servos
20 Amp brushless ESC
2S 1000 mAh liPo
10x4.7 GWS slowfly propellers

I haven't installed the electronics yet.
waiting for my Tx / Rx

Below are a few pics of my progress so far.
Trying to find Kabab sticks for reinforcement.
Will make landing gear tomorrow using cycle spokes.
Right now trying to understand the concept of thrust angle, so I can mount the motor accordingly.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for posting your knowledge.. I read many threads here and cleared many doubts.
Many thanks to Angad (Buzz_RC ). He helped me a lot to clear my doubts.

please suggest if the plane looks ready to fly.

Looking great so far. All the best!
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

I remember mentioning it before to someone else, the wing joining needs to be strengthened or it will fold upwards as soon as its on its own, classic rookie mistake I made
Its the eye of the tiger, its the thrill of the fight
Risin up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
As he watches us all with the eyes of the tiger

Hi Aftab,
The build is coming along really well......Let me know if you can't find kebab sticks, i have many. You can pick them up from my place whenever you feel like.....If you have cut the monoblock section properly then you don't have to worry much about the thrust angle... just make a firewall from a small piece of lite ply and you should be fine... I see you have chosen to build the UC wing instead of KF, please reinforce it properly.... let me know if you need any other help... all the best for her maiden flight!!

Hey thanks Angad,
I will search for Kabab sticks locally.. If unable to find.. will contact you.
I have some pieces of Sumica /Veener lying around will use it for Motor Mount.

Yeah right.. the wings look too weak.. the pic was taken just after I finished the dihedral..
Its too fragile for now... need something strong for bonding.
I am planning to use packaging tape.. but not sure if that will be enough.
any expert advise plz...

To strengthen the wing try to use some carbon fiber rods for the leading edge and at 33% on the underside. For more details read this post.

please watch and leave your comments here, will it fly..?
Thanks.

Mod note: fixed youtube link.

Looks good  just remember to tighten up the loose servo and put the servo horn screws on.
If this is your first then make sure you have enough sim training. And don't forget those wings ;)

I noticed there is a rudder flutter @ 1:40 - 1:45. Ensure that they control surfaces are stiff and do not flex in flight. This can be done by adding a CF rod and / or with packing tape.
The control rods at the servo end looks ok, but I beg to differ with that of the control surfaces side. The rudder control rod's bamboo & wire joint does not look promising. Also the wire for rudder control rod is bent. You may have done this to control the rudder.
The LHS servo is loose, you need to lock it in place with screw/hot glue / epoxy. Also note that when the LHS servo's arm moves to extreme RHS, it moves the RHS servo (00:48).
Once you have had successful flight you can stiffen the plane's body by using packing tape.

I think it's a UC wing (based on the wing saddle's curvature). Ensure that you have a 2" dihedral.

Before maiden:
1) Verify the CG, the plane should be either horizontal or slightly (1 or 2 degree nose heavy).
2) Do the glide test first, and ensure everything is "A OK".
3) Try to maiden when the wind is dead calm.
4) Set her free with 50% throttle.
5) Do a gradual climb.
6) After reaching safe altitude, trim her.

thanks guys for the information.
@SunLikeStar,I will be tightening the servo.
@ashutoshn, thanks for the detail review, I will make sure I follow the instructions.
This was just a rough setup, all the fixing / reinforcement is yet to be done.. as this is my first RC plane, I was so excited that I captured the video and shared.
Once everything is fixed, I will capture a maiden video and post soon..
Thanks again.

This plane design has a  tendency of becoming nastily tail heavy. Please ensure CG before flying.... The designer's enthusiasm to scale characteristic led to very short cowl section, where you don't have much scope to move the battery forward (and to have the motor farther to begin with) to have little nose heavy setup.

All the best...
