Hey guys  ;) , I need you guys to suggest me a good rc wing  (:|~, which I can scratch build   ;D .
I want a wing in which I can use a electric combo which I already have ( mentioned below )  :)

Esc - hobbywing 40 amp or avionic 20 amp brushless esc

Motor - hextronic 24gram 1300 kv 500 gram thrust ( with 8 inch prop) or odin 1300 kv 1500 gram thrust ( with 8 inch prop)

Servos - avionic 9 gram servos or hobbyking 9 gram metal gear servos or hobbyking digital 9 gram servos

Battery - 1500 mah 11.1 v 25c or 2200 mah 11.1 v 25c or 1000 mah 7.4 v 20c

try out models available on flitetest.com, specifically, i don't remember the names but few days back was searching something for myself so saw numerous scratch build foamies. Already, you have a FT22 from it.

devangflyer

Yeah , I have seen their versa wing but it's a 3ch I want between 4-6 ch wing , in the ft 22 also I had made that rudder mod , remember it ?

utkarshg13

Yeah.. I do remember. I'll try out searching something for you.

akky

A basic flying wing utilizes only 3 channels is it necessary to use the  other channels
Arcarious @ Akky.....
I have never crashed while flying....Its the Landing only that gets me....

Have a look....

You have the perfect combo ... a 40 Inch wing from above and the electronics you already have. You need to change one thing ... a high KV motor ... Approx  - 2200KV. look for a motor on HK  prop = 5x3.    > 300 Grm thrust is good enough for a 36 inch Wing.

a 1000mah battery can give >20min flight times..... see here

@ Akky I want a rudder , it's not necessary , It would give it more controls and provide more stability

devangflyer

@ rastsaurabh I want to make a wing not purchase one .

devangflyer

@ Utkarshg thanks , do you have any wing in mind that's 4 channels or more ?

v2 eagle

Build a versa wing, put some flaps and landing gear and you will have a flying wing with 5 channels. ;D ;D ;D
Okay, that was just a joke, add some differential brake rudder system in a Versa wing if you need rudder action.
You can add rudder to coro towel from makezine.com

utkarshg13

Why do you want to add extra servos. Yeah... you could go for differential ruder mechanism. Also, you can add flaps to your wing for much more stable flight.

utkarshg13

Adding flaps to flying wing would work as elevator only ;)

devangflyer

@ v2 eagle and Utkharshg I know about all that differential , but I want a basic rudder system , which will help me to mod it like I want for it , I can do delta , normal or ellvon  mixing just from it . I will also be able to pull some tuff stunts that usually not able to be done from wing ex knife edge , btw I was thinking about changing the versa wing's design a little so that I can put 2 rudders on it , what do you say about that ?

v2 eagle

Take this:
http://makezine.com/projects/make-30/the-towel-rc-stunt-plane/

Add rudder in the center beyond the prop so that the prop wash goes with the rudder and gives good yaw effect.
i tried this but havent flew with it yet. but ground test show that the yaw is crisp enough.

devangflyer  - good to hear that you want to make not purchase..... did you go through the links i have mentioned.

You will understand that you will be making one its just the wing core to give you a good start in your scratch building.

Devang, as an 'advanced' RCer, you should be advising, not asking :D

devangflyer

Just going with what's the best , advance doesn't mean that I can't ask

devangflyer

Guys just decided I'm going to make the towel with some mods ,
Sorry this time there's not going to a build log or maiden video post ,
Will be making it with my friend Akshat Nautiyal ( not on this forum )

v2 eagle

Actually it doesnt need a build log as its stupid simple. it takes hardly 1 hour if you have all the components in hand.
my rc dream started with this plane and i still love this plane as it sounds more like a engine stuff with the coroflute making all the sound. gonna upgrade the motor to DT750 as the Emax 2812 doesnt pull much.

Edit: If you are going for coro instead of foam make sure the motor puts around 700gms of thrust, use Hxt900 servos for quick response which wing really needs. ive used tg9, avionics and these servos give sluggish response.

Coroplast built
Emax 2812 motor

20A hobbywing ESC
turnigy 2200mah 20c Lipo-Critical for nose weight. go even for a 3000mah
hextronic hxt900 servos
