.....with a 3s 610, she weighs just over 350g, and a WL of 4.5 opsf, RTF.

Here's my all new High AR 59" (59 x 5.5" )flying wing sailplane with wire cut foam wings(Clark Y).

...the span and chord were a result of the available/salvaged foam...

Pic 1. Slabs salvaged.
Pic 2. 5 cores cut
Pic 3. 5 cores rejoined to form two wing halves.
Pic 4. The batch of wings :)

EDIT: Its 59in span and not 56 as posted earlier.

#2
.....the pod with motor and the rest is fixed with rubber bands/dowel arrangement. Now that the CG and general flying characteristics have been tested, I intend to try this wing for sloping (the WL is well within range).....it should weigh about an ounce less (21 g motor, ply motor mount, screws, foam, BEC without bullet connectors).....or with a WL of 4.13 opsf....

...just need t build another pod  ;)

EDIT: This one is built as a glider/saliplane and flies like one - the flight in the video is more to capture it within frame and hence looks like any other flying wing.

thanks Gaurang. ....missed taking a video of the foam cutting....takes a bit of time to set up, although its quite hazzle free.
it looks a lot like several other frames made out of a 0.5x1.5x40 in hard/straight wood 'F' shape with a voltage regulator.

....if you are yet to build one, I suggest you make a simple bow like a 'D' out of bamboo. make sure the curve of 'D' is deep enough.

...will post my set up soon as I need to cut a few more cores.

btw...its not the bow alone, but the number of cores you cut which help fine tune your overall set up - just make it out of whats easily and inexpensively available. you can improvise once you get a hang of it :)
