Hello everyone
Yes "Ice-cream sandwitch" is the name of my home made plane  :giggle: , it is almost similar to avispad, one of the major issue for building rc plane for me was unavailability of Bio-foam and it is also not available online, only option remaining for me was cardboard, thermocol and small sheets of coroplast  :banghead: . Here are some pics of Ice-cream Sandwitch  :giggle: . you will come to know why i give it this name. I am beginner before this i have tried two planes 1.) Russ40 2.) Sloflyer28 but Russ40 did not fly and sloflyer was really horrible with 20mm thermocol. I want help to get complete flying model. Suggestions are welcomed.  :)

Here i have cut out some pieces to reduce the weight. My plan is to cover the model with cello/packing tape so that cardboard will not absorb moisture.

Corrugated paper tends to have a low strength-weight ratio. Anyway, good luck! Looking forward to seeing the final completed model and flight video :D

Now I can get why you call it "ice cream sandwich"

Thank you sanjayrai55, santosh-r, aniket1995 .
Now major part is of wings, i am having 20mm thermocol sheet. i cannot cut single piece wing because i am using guitar string to cut foam which is short , please tell me how to join two wings in between.
for strength of wing, mixture of fevicol and newspaper i have seen in this forum and then wrapping the wing with cello tape.
Want suggestion on wings :headscratch:

rastsaurabh

Cut half the span each time join via fevicol or hot glue post which put spar then cover with paper.

Cardboard plane will be too heavy if you want to use it as an electric plane unless intended to use big motors. You can use only styrofoam to build electric plane and that will be very light, can be finished nicely.
For wings, you can cut a 2-4 cm balsa wood strip around 10-12 cm long and put that as a joint between wings.

Prashant_G

wings completed. now time for electronics  (:|~. Special thanks to rastsaurab and mustang

Pic of bottom of wing. the Black sheet is of coroplast which i have joined with cf rod and feviquick and then pasted thermocol with fevicol and sanded into airfoil shape.

mustang

you would have carved a wing out of styrofoam, it would have been much easier to build..

@mustang
Strofoam is not available in my city  :'( even big sheets of coroplast is not available.

Nice flight there!

Why did you cut the take-off and landing scenes? I really wanted to see that landing gear in action!
Really good job considering the materials you have used! Inspirational!

Could you post the details of the complete power system you have used?
