Friends..Colleagues..i was crawling through some old S&E modeler books, and inspired to make a 3D plane..this one is not from a plan, or from a copy, but its own one..because after the reading, i looked for the price for a 3D plane..its too shocking..ohhh...so decided to complete one..
i call her as SKY DANCER, because of her stability and excellent nature of control..she can hover in the air with slight adjustments of surfaces with ease..and can see here how simple it is to make a 3D plane our own..!!  and cost..? within 100 Rs for the plane as she took only a part of a fluted plastic board..used nothing extra ordinary here..

actually i do not have any clear idea about the design of this plane..but a good look was in my mind..as the finished plane..but as usual, i am rewriting my experiences in model making, as this plane shows excellent charechteristics all the while..
she is powered by a 275 Watt ECM, and no idea about the prop as i scraped from an old Enya 10 cc engine..powered by a 7.2 volt LiPoly battery..

you can see i started to work on straw board..while keeping a good aspect ratio for a good look..

Roopesh, superb as usual, Looks like mig 19, super design, rudder surface is small, she wont 3d in the classic sense, but certainly will fly exceptionally well

A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Sorry Friends..Respected Elders..i lost power supply..
Augustine Sir..a million thanks for the inspiration..she is performing well, but i do not know to perform extreme aerobatics.. :giggle:

photograph 2 shows the rough cutout..because i have to fix a second same piece together...for streangth..

a well sanded piece of X Ray sheet is glued to inside of the both surface, to act as hinges..
Phoenix.........

shows the fixed two pieces..

full fuse..

time to cut out for main wing..servo and tailplane..
wing is 18 inch spanned..and with 2 inch control surfaces..
Phoenix.........

just before installations..

jointed..

it is not feasible to glue servos on the fuse, or anywhere..so i placed it out nicely..

time for the test flight...was with some nervous..because of my unhealthyness..and very unwilling to damage a good motor along with other stuffs..so was with extreme care..but she hovered in front of me..nicely..and got some good confidanace..

and it is not a good job, without painting..so i sprayed her, with quick drying PU paint, as in grey silver and german red..

showing all needed driving force..i placed the battery and all things to the starboard side, to counter the motor torque..and it worked..battery was placed just under the thrust line..to achieve a good balance..all fixers are good quality wire ties..

and she is too light...

Friends..i am little sad that it is not possible to take some flying photographs or video, at present as i am alone..but i am waiting for Mr Nikin, or Mr vinod, or Pramod Sir, soon with me..i tried to take but she is very fast and furious..and yes very unwilling to crash her..delibrately..i cant claim anything on her's performance, as i never took any idea or calculation to her..all got it accidently..anyhow..working well even in my hands..so i can imagine, that her's performance in an experienced hands..of 3D...

Friends..all of my efforts to make this lovely plane is dedicated to all our brave Pilots, men and women, who serving our country, and looks after us all without a scratch, while they flying..high..salute.. :salute: :salute: :salute:

swiz..if you examine closely, you can see a second horizontal panel, is attached to the fuse in length, like wing root extensions..and all surface was glued not by super glue, but with fast tow part epoxy..and after 8 hours it became just like a single piece..too strong..and you can see some carbon rods and reinforced threads to make her even strong...and she is too chubby, so that thers not much issue of sogginess..after painting it became even more stiffer...

Swiz..its happy..i am not a 3D flyier..and hope veterans of our forum can advice us to learn and perform the 3D tricks..and see how simple it is to make a good craft for us...
