can you also post information on CG, and how to fine tune the model to get a level flight plus how forward or backward CG will effect the flight of the model (from neutral CG) !

Dear Sai,
in the official build manual of Mr.MOSS the elevator control horn was installed incorrectly. The holes in the control horn are not in line with the elevator hinge line which results in the movement of elevator more in one direction and less in the other direction. This may not pose a problem in this kind of a beginners plane but since most new modellers are choosing Mr.MOSS as their first RC Plane is it not better to teach them the right way from the beginning ?.I hope you understand.

Do you think I am a fault Seeker?

Considering the fact that the aircraft is belly landing type and the need to mount the servos on top side of the fuse there is not much of an option but to place it the way it is . I have not found it to be a functional problem so considering the aim of Mr MOSS is to provide a Strong , platform to learn flying for a beginner which does not cost the sky I think this very minor anomaly  is immaterial .In Fact the sp4mm3r Glider climbed straight at around a  60 deg  climb angle despite this . ;D

Guys I am not Technical Aero Modeler but I make the planes and am very happy if the  achieve the purpose for which they are made ie to fly  ;) ;D ;D

CG determination for this plane is very simple .
Dont glue the wing to the fuse when assembling .
Fit all components as you like OR as per instructions .
Place the index fingers at a distance of around 2 " on either side of the fuse at the spar  and slide the wing  forward or behind  to balance the plane .
The point at which the plane balance is the CG Point .

For the MOSS using the stock set up the CG point is around  30-35% from the front tip of the fuse ie 7.5 " till 8 " on the SPAR .ie 1/3rd of the 24 " fuse boom.

yes this is what i was asking, what will happen if the CG point is at 30%(assume) will the plane be sensitivity to one's input compared to a CG point of 35% ???

Mr.Sai,
I am not telling that elevator control horn was positioned wrongly. What I mean is that the control horn was fitted wrongly.Instead of having the angled part facing towards the pushrod which would automatically aligns the holes in the control horn in line with the hinge line the control horn was fitted with the angled part facing towards the Rear. The problem could be corrected by simply turning around the control horn. In the pictures posted by Pickle in his thread you can see that the control horn was fitted in the correct manor.
If suggestions are no longer welcome. Then so be it.

I am sorry I could not understand what you meant .
Suggestions are always welcome no issues with it .
Experience is a great teacher Thanks will change it in the manual  later when I re do my MOSS.

It is quite possible to re-position the battery  closer to the wing and  push the CG to 35 % .
In fact in the case one of the MOSS's I have built I have  used 9 gm servos instead of 6 gms hence the CG is further behind like around
40 % .
BTW I believe imagination is the limitation in case of SPAD's hence  what ever one is comfortable with is fine .

MR MOSS is a platform where you can experiment as you want without worrying  about  smashing it up.

TRY WHAT EVER YOU WANT THE GOAL IS TO LEARN AND ENJOY FLYING  on a Low Budget  ;D 
note : Not Lowest : there could be someone who will come up with a version at a lower price

That is why changed the HEADING now TO : THE BUILD GUIDE and not the OFFICIAL BUILD MANUAL

Hi Guys,

Sorry to interrupt, i got mr.moss today from mr.sai and successfully soldered as well as glued the wings today..

Please chk the snaps and comment, also i need some help regarding the electronics, how does it go on the stick ?

Mr. Sai the spokes provided for the servo i believe there diameter is bigger for the control horns, i mean how to stick them into the control horns?

Atul,
Option 1 : Use a dril bit of same diameter as of the spoke.
Option 2 : Use a nail of approx same diameter as of spoke, heat it with a lighter or gas stove, insert the heated nail in the hole of control horn.
Option 3 : use clevice
Making a perfect z bend on a cycle spoke is a difficult task.
best way to make a perfect z bent is to heat the spoke to RED HOT and with the help of two nose pliers (preferred) bend the spoke to desired shape and immersed it in water immediately.
Fly high if you have good set of batteries.....!

have a look, it is working perfectly in my E-starter as well as in some other design as well. i can suggest you to search a guy (Iron Smith) in Chennai who can make such landing gears for you in bulk, not only for MOSS but for other future designs also.
Fly high if you have good set of batteries.....!

Hello Sai,

Can you please let me know the distances of square cuts on the wings from top and bottom (to insert the fuselage)? I received the kit yesterday, but the markings are not very clear and they don't seem to go in harmony with the way the coro is cut.
