Hi roopeshkrishna,

You wrote to me telling me that this plane was a better model than another mentioned elsewhere. I was wondering just how would you like to prove that to me. I would like to get a price of the plane and freight to 2390 NSW Australia. I may be waiting for some time for the plane mentioned and so in fairness and interest I would really like to introduce the plane to Australia and more so to my friends. I understand it is an easy plane to fly and would suit beginners. I thought it would be an interesting aircraft to allow any beginners to try out with a buddy box sytem we have. Also I would be very hooured to maiden the first plane imported from India.
As far as I know :-)

Do you think it would survive the trip to Australia? Every plane we receivefrom HobbyKing whether sent from Hong Kong or from their Australian warehouse is always double boxed. A box inside a slightly larger box. As yet I have never had any problems with this method. I was amazed at the price of the other plane, how does yours compare?

Who knows, it could well start a nice little good relationship exercise between out countries. I have no doubt at all our newspaper will jump at the chance of showing your plane to our North West NSW population. It has a huge coverage so many people will see it.

Nobody I know owns a plane made of the Corflute. I may be wrong but I believe it's a plastic covered corrugated cardboard like sheeting. I have seen a lot of it used for advertising. It's extremely light but equally strong but mainly in one direction. I imagine (if it is what I'm think of) it would withstand minor crashes But id a wing was to bend there would be no way of repairing it. Like cardboard that bend would be there permanently. How do you cope with that. Simply cut a new wing. Come to think of it how do you make a aerodynamic wing? I'd imagine the top part of the wing would attempt to flatten out to it's original state.

Forgive me, I obviously have no idea regarding how you use it. Foam is rather simple in comparison to me. Whereas the reverse may be the case with your Corflute. I would enjoy the challenge of a new building substance.

Please contact me and quote a price for the plane and freight.

Kind regards  Stuart :hatsoff:

"You wrote to me telling me that this plane was a better model than another mentioned elsewhere."

If you read the entire post of Propfella @ Stuart, it doesn't leave much to imagination as to which the 'another mentioned' model is. Didn't expect this kind of back stabbing from a forum member. I have booked both and expect to receive them both soon. I am no expert, but will employ an expert to test them both out on equal footing. I'm sure both the models will have their own positives and negatives.

But to say "My model is better than his, buy mine and not his" is ethically incorrect. Not done, IMHO.

I wonder if the Mods / Admin missed out on this post or were you hoping to let this one pass quietly into obscurity?

I am NOT letting this die a natural death. Have had ENOUGH, forgiven ENOUGH from this one particular member. Enough is Enough. His ethereal creativity be damned. This double standard sucks BIG TIME!!!

What the heck have I done wrong. I wanted to buy a plane but was told another plane would be better. I asked for a price to send the other plane and get abused for it. I have already stated I wanted the other plane when there are enough to go around so in the meantime I thought why not get one of the others. I wasn't going to play judge and jury on either of them, I just wanted to buy one. What is so wrong with that. I've told no lies, I've abused no one simply asked for a price on sending me a plane. If that causes such an uproar then I will retract both orders and buy one from someone willing to sell.

I find most people selling planes are happy to serve me but I've never been treated like this. I honestly thought I would be helping both sellers but obviously this isn't the case. I apologize for ever daring to offer. It won't happen again, I give my word.

Perhaps somebody a little calmer could explain why the person selling the plane I wanted to buy yesterday in a PM is so upset about me wanting his plane. I may be old and disabled but as yet I'm sure my mind hasn't been affected. Have I broken some ethical law? I must admit I don't understand a lot about India and it's customs but I'm willing to learn. The very reason I joined this forum. I found the members to be extremely polite towards each other and indeed a number of members have made me feel almost one of the group. This has obviously proven me wrong and some people her are just like Americans or Australians. I honestly think a PM would have been much better than jumping up and down and getting people upset.

Perhaps leaving the forum altogether may make you happy. If so please let me know. I don't enjoy being somewhere I'm not welcome.

Hey Stuart, you've done nothing wrong. I apologise if I have hurt you in anyway. That was not my intention.

My outburst is not directed at you in any way. If at all, I am grateful to you for stripping away the mask of false humility that another member has been hiding behind.

Just the other day a member was censured and threatened with a ban for challenging a sale thread by claiming that his product (also up for sale) was better than the one on offer there. If another member does the same via PM, I feel it is equally unethical.

Oh! Wow guys, I am one very relieved Aussie. After reading the post again I realise where my misunderstanding came from. Straight after the quote from me and reading my name the next fing i read was "backstabbing" This is where I believed it was myself who was to blame. In the light of what you have told me I see it was my fault for jumping to conclusions. They say men don't cry but children and old men are allowed a tear or two. I must admit either the child in me or my age took control and I did feel a tear trickle down my face. It may sound silly to you but I was hurt and felt bad about losing a place to learn something new. Actually not so much new but something from many years ago when I sat for hours watching my Father building a plane using balsa wood, tree gum for glue and old razor blades for cutting. He used no plans and drew everything to ensure both wings where the same simply by turning the tissue paper over and folowing the pins holes.

You guys reminded me that RC aircraft isn't just buying a big box of precut, predrilled, virtually built aircraft which snapped together and joined it all with screws and bolts. That's why I am building a foam cutter and when I can get to the field I fly a scratch built plane. You guys prove things don't have to be so pretty to fly and your fine aircraft don't come out of boxes.

I apologise for wording my opening to my post with the reference I did. I did it to remind the person I was talking to knew who I was. Rather stupid of me with my name attached, he'd hardly forget an old Aussie like me. We are a bit thin on the ground over there :-)

I would prefer not to buy the plane now. I still intend to wait until the other plane is available and see if it's possible to have one sent. Even my wife showed interest in seeing it and she couldn't really care about the big boxed variety from Hong Kong.

If I have been the cause of upset by my choice of words I sincerely apologise. I certainly never set out to cause problems. I really do thank the three of you for your very kind words to encourage me to stay.  That is what I meant about the understanding politeness of the members of this forum. I've led a life full of abuse and belittling. Dissappointments and lies. I saw an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy your far gentler approach to life. I'm afraid our sense of humour is far different and I'd imagine a number of you would think I have or had lost my marbles.

I don't wish to bore you much more but I would very much like to study your ways of building your aircraft from Corflute. The idea intrigues me. If anyone is willing to answer quetions regarding building one and even if there is a building tutorial with photos or video I would love to see it. I will be asking one of my nurse to call into our post office next week to see if they have information regarding postage to and from India as I have a few ideas to help those less fortunate members on RCIndia. As for purchasing a plane I will wait until I am offered one and certainly erase my blunder and the plane involved from my memory.

Thank you gentleman. God bless you all. Best wishes, sincerely Stuart

Has Roopesh done something :headscratch: Again!! :P
But seriously guys, it would be easier to understand the context if we all used names instead of using phrases like "that particular member", "another plane", just sayin :)

Stuart

I am not sure if you will be able to get any information about postage FROM India from your local PO. Also, airplane packages would come into "volume/weight" category where the freight would be dependent on the volume rather than absolute weight. So the dimensions of the box would determine the charges.

Personally, I doubt if it would be economically feasible to ship either way.

I think that under the circumstances I will cancel my order, thank you.
