sabhi ko abhinandan aur dipawali mubarak,

I'm beginner and facing some probs ....i have 1050kv motor (turnigy red 2213 20 turns),

30amp hk esc,1600mah,coro build and hot glue used.

So the problem is

First of all.... is my plane looking weird??  (Mom says so and laughts)

so back...
1) tail is real heavy & i have to add some dead weight at nose to obtain correct CG.(refer

PIC 13 and 5).So i am stuck and cannot decide wether to shift back my wings (plane wings

ofcourse), towards tail...or... to cut middle section and remove some coro's and then rejoin

wid hot glue (refer pic 0)?

2) when i run motor with prop on it,the prop slips off shaft and fly to room corner..and

mom laughts.... again?? Please refer pic no. 6,7,8  and then after tightening the screws

,,,..is that correct procedure (the shaft doest not have any slit and is plane throughout??
I think i mounted the prop wrong way.

Also refer pic no 10 and plz tell me how to mount prop on that silver thing.... as the prop

doestnot fit in that(we have to drill a larger hole in prop or what)?

3) refer pic 12 ..is this correct way of checking CG...assume my left hand finger in place

of chair.

4) refer pic 2 ...are servos well placed  (4 of em)? The fin is straight.

5) refer pic 3 ..is that aerofoil shape weird ?
6) refer pic 10  ... what is the use of that tiny screw without head (left of shaft)??
7) When i run motor above 60 % its vibrates dangerously and when at 100% it has cool motion.

Is it OK?
8) when i push throttle to full(i.e. full up ) ..is that thing called Burst current (related

to ESC)?

bas itna hi.

for your motor mount are those screws or nut bolts..? if screws then u have mounted it wrong. tghe head is always suppose to be on the side u are fixing the item..!

how did u check the cg..?? if trial method or 1/3 of chord.. then u are wrong.. calculate the exact position using the calculator...!
http://adamone.rchomepage.com/cg_calc.htm

or the formula..!

CG from LE = {(mean wing chord)/ 7} + {3(tailplane area) * (moment arm)/ 8 * wing area}
all measurements in mm or cm... as u want the output.

moment arm= distance between the leading edge of wing and tail...!

for the vibration check the prop how you have assembled it is very important than the balancing.. mignt be it is loose ( why dont u try the other way and use a prop adapter and bolt on the prop)

does not look that weird good for a a first timer....! but did u follow any plans..? or was it a self design..? if self design then ur wing thickness is more when compared to the cord:thickness ratio..! but will fly..!

instead of adding weight in the nose try reducing the weight from the tail...! scrape some foam... or cut some small boxes in the coro. restrengthen it with thick packing tape..!

moving the wing back by 2-4 cms will be effective but again calculate cg and check... dont move the wing beyond that..!

fin wont make a difference in this case i think..! ( beginners use it very less)

any more questions happy to help...!

Thankyou Sir for your time :)

I use this motor .
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=5688
If anybody is using motor like this then plz try to upload one or two pic of the mount or the motor area. Just wanna know how to mount prop on motor and motor on plane

there are only screws and no nut bolts for motor mount.see above link. Nut itself is drilled in motor.

I have prop adapter like this
http://www.electrifly.com/motors/gpmq4903-rf.jpg
but the problem is the prop's hole doesn't fit in the adapters bolt (Will drilling in Prop will help?if yes how to drill?)

yes i could have followed the thickness ratio but coros came from electric pole tuition advertisements and are free .so the length was not sufficient.

no plans were used, it was self-designed with no calculations involved..just made .

some questions still in ma mind: -

Still which idea is best ..to remove some coros from middle ..or.. shift wing backwards.?(pic 10)

6) refer pic 10  ... what is the use of that tiny screw without head (left of shaft)??
7) when i push throttle to full(i.e.stick full up ) ..is that thing called Burst current ?
11) Can aerolons be used as flaps?
12) If my model is 900 grams and thrust produced is 1000gms ..then will it fly or just run on ground?

thankyou  :)

Dear snehal,
1:Your plane is beautiful.   ;D
2:Yes snehal, your plane will definitely fly  :)
3:If you dont want to cut coro from tail, you can shift the battery position to balance CG.. Even then if you cant get it correct yet, you can opt other above methods, but avoid adding extra weight..
4:Regarding aelorons, yes they can be used as flaps, but it requires a bit extra setup..
5:I am into nitro, so regarding your question 7, i would prefer any electric flyer's answer..

Hope u practice on simu before your first flight...
good luck
I can take off and fly well. Its landing which sucks :banghead::banghead:

removing some coro is the most ideal..! but as it is a self designed u can shift the wing 1-2in backand then chesk the cg..!

as abhay said. move the battery completely ahead.

7> that is not the burst current but normally called as full throttle( or as in nitro open throttle).

when the motor is loaded with the precise prop and you are doing some stunt like the spin and your plane is falling out of the sky. in such case to recover u pull on the elevator and suddenly open power. in that case the motor as is tremendously loaded. to over come that load it draws extra current from the batt ( via esc) which is more  than the current for avg flying. this extra current is called as burst current.

.. >yes  alirons can be used as flaps but it needs expertise and some extra configuration on your computerized radio( read manual if your radio permits)

dont worry your plane will fly. some basic tips while final rigging
1> check lateral balance ( balance your wing ) add or remove weight from wing tips in order to balance them ( use/ make some setup as a balance scale)
2> check CG. adjust the CoG as perfect as possible
3> use gear and let the plane roll instead of a hand launch.
4> check all control surfaces to neutral.

regarding the drilling the prop. use a drill machine with the bit of same size as the shaft
a local repair man or a carpenter wil help. take mount dia and tell him to use the bit and drill on the same hole.

adding a paint drw for reference for the motor mount hope u will understand..!

abt 12> if ur plane is 900gms then u don't need that much thrust, around 60%-70% is enough to make it fly depending on the type of plane... if u have more thrust than weight, then ur plane will go vertically up like rocket... u need it mostly for jets or aerobatics planes....not required for normal planes.....

6> it is called grub screw.... u need hex-driver to use it, generally used in prop adapter....or motor to fix the shaft...

Thankyou Abhayji :) for boosting my confidence...and ur avatar is really good and unique.

have tried and moved all components infront but it didnt helped and still tail heavy.so i will remove coros from middle.i have two layers of coro on tail control surfaces to stiffen them.

I have hk 6ch 2.4 v2 black ..i am able to config it wid t6config but unable to play simulator
SO HOW CAN I PLAY ANY SIMULATOR WITH THIS TX.????

So vish sir i have to drill a hole in the prop ,which should fit in the prop adapter's screw.Isnt it?.
but this black thing
http://www.thesmithfam.org/albums/super_cub_october_2006_first_flight/saver4.jpg
also doesnt fit in the prop adapters screw and drilling inside is not possible ,its a metal.

Mounting prop on prop adapter and mounting prop on shaft are two different things ...isnt it?

anybody using grub screws??

:)
are all parts labelled correctly in below picture?

Dear snehal,

I use analog joystick (use for playing games on compu)..You can get it for :Rs: 200-220.

I use it with Aerofly Simu..

dont call me abhay ji yaar  :giggle:.. abhay is sufficient
I can take off and fly well. Its landing which sucks :banghead::banghead:

Snehal.Samar

lol..:D ok abhay babu

i wanna play simulator in tx for practise and i am unable to ..i downloaded everything ,ppjoy,t6config,t6sim but always stuck at t6sim where port always shows CLOSED..dont know what to do.
Snehal Samar

spitfire

I guess you cannot connect your hk 6ch to the simulator using its programming cable.
You will have to buy separate cable like this
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/810-3-in1-integrated-simulator.aspx

Snehal.Samar

i can connect the tx wid pc ..and i am able to programme using that cable wid t6config but unable to play simulator
...i think that there is something to do with virtual joystick

Try increase the length of the nose. Add some coro in front and then fix motor. While it will increase the AUW slightly, it will make the plane nose heavy. Trust me, I have done this and the plane still flies...

thnks  spitfire :) ..now the cg is balanced and plane cuts air smoothly as butter by knife

@pankaj ..i am still unable to play simulators on pc..and iam stuck at t6sim (that smiley icon wala) and its port always says CLOSED .Any idea?? :
