I had ordered the linear micro servos about 2 months back. Due to stock problem, i got it only now. It weighs 2.8 grams.
i already had ordered and got the Micro motor and 0.6 gram esc and 240 mah cell.

Today morning quickly made a model to try this gear. not yet ready for maiden. another two hours work left.

pl see some pictures of the  work that has been done and the link for the gear.

Would love to see how it handles wind (or how much wind it can handle flying outdoors) !  In terms of weight, there is also a 130mAH-ish lipo, which can help further.

I much awaited for such a feasible project, and the initiative came from own Ashta sir! (not discounting similar micro planes made by VC / the other gentleman in North East)

Ashta sir , how about giving this class of planes a totally new playground - the indoor stadium at National Games Village, Kormangla ? I always fancied the videos of indoor 3D planes, flying in NBA courts! Though we have Jakkur in Bangalore, it would be nice to see if we can take the concerned authorities in confidence and add another flying field to the city ?
I am game if others are interested too.

Please do not put me in the same league as Ashta Sir, Saikat and Col. Sundaram. I do not belong in their league. They are past masters at this game. I have made some simple micro gliders - thats just about all.

i am not expecting thios model to take any significant wind due to the wing design. Its just intended to be an indoor. If it works then there are mny models i have in mind, in which i can adapt the same gear, which can take a bit of wind and fly out door.

The final weight of this model now is 43 grams.

Today was bit calm morning. Maidened the Micro plane. Gentle and stable flight.
Video 1:

This is a plane made just like that in order to test this micro comps. with no plan..there is some scope for improvement.  i think that i can reduce the tail a little and move the servos little back. also may be reduce the wt by 10 grams. Any way i am considering this as a good platform to try out various possible micro designs.

Video2:
By this time wind had picked up. not much may be 5 - 8 miles. still it handled it very well.

Since this flew well, made the nose little better looking and also made a battery compartment w/o adding any significant weight. also adjusted the CG to the sweet spot.
Yday, went to Jakkur and flew this in 8 -10 miles wind.( just guess!!) It flew very well.

Here are some pictures

I shortened the tails by 3 inches and also changed the angle of incidence. Now it flies even better.
Slightly windy but it managed it well.
here is a video. I shot this thru my crude Hatcam. so many places the plane is gone out of the frame.
