Did an avispad build recently, slightly modified from original plans, the wing areas is larger. No build pics :(.
The maiden was a disaster. The second trial much better. Here it is:

Some kinks ironed out, some are left.
Changed the landing gear. The earlier one was from the cub I lost recently. The gear would squash on landing, and was giving away on high speeds, one can hear the prop hitting the ground, right after sanjay sir's nimboo mirchi chant ;)
The CG was out. Very nose heavy. Now fixed by swapping the position of the battery and the ESC + Rx.
Feels underpowered on takeoff, motor to be replaced.
Next trial this Wed. Will post the results.
Thanks Sanjay sir for the guidance throughout, and Sandeep Pande for shooting the difficult video, given the my tipsy takeoff.
I am getting jealous of you guys ........getting all the fun.....I am to go on business trip
@Girish Bhaiya that as one heck of a takeoff eve dangerous than mmy TT Ready's first takeoff :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
:hatsoff: :hatsoff: To the pilot for succesfullt cotrolling the takeoff {:)} {:)} {:)}
Way too uderpowered i guess and cg not balanced ..... ??? ???
Girish, as I was there, I can unequivocally say that was some flying, looking at the way the model was behaving {:)} {:)}
I think we have all the corrective actions on file now, just need to implement
Wonderful flying! Will be there on Wednesday
Get your 049 and maiden it!

At 1:09, you can hear Sandeep saying some balance problem....CG is out :D
Thank you sanjay sir, shauvik and maheen. If I had to own up, I was sweating that moment ;) It's a spad but any loss would have been a loss.
Hope to have a better flight tomm. Thanks for the motor sanjay sir.
Maheen, I am looking forward to see you flying your cox. Did you start it with the new fuel?
Sir, Cox is finally running ;D
Ready to be maidened tomorrow.
Some great flying today Girish! Successful maiden, successful second flight {:)} {:)}
Now just upgrade that motor, and rock the skies :D
Sure sir, I am looking at the motor tonight.
Also, I now have the two fiery blaze stickers ;)...lol
You'll have to make your plane fiery before installing them though.
Maahin: do you have the video of the flying of this?
Videos are currently uploading sir.
Great! Thank you Maahin :D

Great! Cool morning's work :D
Observe: video 2 ends precisely where video 1 starts - next to that big stone on the runway ;D
Thanks Maheen,
Sanjay sir, we should put a green klaxon on top of that stone. It will serve as our our go-no-go light
;D LoL! It will be easier to move it!
Reposting this post a little below ...posted out of order.
So, the first incarnation of the A-V spad came down after about 12 successful flights. Was landing and went oblivious on the sticks...let the elevator spring back to neutral, about 8 feet above the ground, nosed dived, fuse broken, motor shaft broken
Redid the fuse...pics attached
Another photo of the fuse of A-V Redux
Redid the motor shaft from 4mm steel rod. Not hardened but worked great. Snug fit in the bearing, with a little lubrication moved very well.
However, motor was not being cooled properly and the bearings little noisy; Ignorance was bliss and the A-V took about 7 more flights
The original 3530 motor gave way, probable bearing problem; overheated; dead with coils burnt. The A-V came down with the motor dangling in front but landed safely (on the landing strip ;)). It was a sight.
Motor now replaced with a 3536 size from RCB. Thanks Sanjay sir for the advise on the motor spec, and the idea for making a shaft out of die guide rods...
Incarnation 3 Maiden tommorow...
Talking of die guide rods, can harden them. Use a butane flame, red heat, and throw into oil. Should get about 45 Rc on it. If done properly, to 850 deg C, and proper cooling done, can get 55 Rc!
AV Spad flying on a 3536 motor. Arvind tossing it around ;)

Great fun. BTW you mentioned ESC about 10 times in the video
Hahaha...you 'felt' my cloaked agony
The A-V Spad has been serving good. Over 70 flights successfully done.
Last flight and due to distractions, the wing bolts weren't tightened. the wing came off right after take off, and it hit the ground like a missile. Firewall was safe so was motor...Corro gave way to the shock...
Fuse repaired since then, much stronger and a DVR mounted :D
So here's technically my first FPV video...Camera feed will be linked to the gt-jtx very soon.

"Fly way...in this perfect weather"
The ground looks quite nice from above.....except for the trucks ;) ;)
Noticed another field too - behind
Is some mela coming up? Or is that dome like thing a permanent construction ???
temporary. Will be off by the time you're in ggn ;)
Ah, cool. Can't wait to maiden (finally!!) the stick
Sanjay sir,
That's where the Jap guy flies his glider. I've asked him to join us this weekend...

Girish spec please, motor bat,prop,
Iwincar
3536 motor1500 kv from rcb
10 x 7 ep prop
2200.mah
50a esc
48 inch wingspan
auw ~1.3 kg
Basis the Avisapd from Bex...
very overpowered I think.
Young man, your thoughts are irrelevant and irrational. This is no more a trainer, but a sport model
The A-V has been serving well and flew it yesterday afternoon...too many kites and partly irresponsible on my end, dangerous for the birds, but then, I'm a non-vegetarian...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbod6mQk4D4#ws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbod6mQk4D4#ws)
fuse broke on second landing...so now there's a box on top of a box on top of a boxed fuse...
Flew this morning again...
You kept attacking "The Tree" :o :o ;D
parts of me are herbivorous as well ;)...One fine day sire..."The Tree" will be "The Tree That Was"
