hi all
maidened my cularis yesterday, launched by one of the expert in our group. i am  able to fly it quite comfortably aftr sometime, being such a huge dlider orientation was not a problem so kept on flying without looking onto  the surroundings, realised too lately whn my controls are not responding to the stick movements, i was flying close to the 220 kv ht line, u can see it in the videos ( or my poor piloting abilities :headscratch: :headscratch:),finally touched on the ht line and down :banghead: :banghead:................anyway multiplex rocks no severe damage

pls watch the crashing videos

;D....same thing happened to me today evening, accepted the model ended up in tree as i could not make out the models depth with the surroundings  :banghead:
Today might be a great and wonderful day. It depends on you.

Hi Santosh,

Great stuff..Love that bird..

I think it was not a good idea to fly near the High Tension line man..the radio was glitching as far as I can make out..

which radio are you using ? Go in for slope flying  :)

Do the normal routine check ups... but I bet it would be hard to fly this amazing huge bird..

Congrats on the new model. You must be very lucky to get away with it. Just be very cautious around HT lines. They can fry your plane. Or worst if any of the authorities see you flying close to these lines you may end up facing something that you might not expect.

Did you say you lost control completely, or you just could not  maneuver it enough to avoid the accident ?  Did you have controls after it came down ?  It was not a radio issue, right ?

i dont think it's rx a issue, what i felt was plane was not responding corrrectily to the stick movements( still thinking it's my fault) whn it was flying near the ht lines, aftr the crash all the contols were working ok, but to make it clear i have to make ground range test also because i had a similar incident long back whn i was flying my firebird commander and after that crash all the controls were working fine but the range is reduced to  abt 20 meters( radio 27 mhz), will be flying the cularis next weekend

Yep. That is what I read too, and this is why I heard that people are doing advanced setups like butterfly brakes and flaperons on the flaps so that even the flaps help with turns by acting as ailerons.

Waiting for your next video. Wanted to see how well/fast it glides during landing.

Let us discuss this on the other thread : http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/setting-up-a-glider-with-dual-aileron-servos-and-dual-flap-servos/
