I am new to this forum.
This is my first RC plane.
I have made my plane with thermocol which is readily available in stationery stores in india.
Covered it with newspaper and mixture of fevicol and water(same quantities of both).
I don't know much about Electronics . ???
Please help me about which electronics I may use and from where to get them. [ P.S. - I stay in Mumbai ]
I want to reduce the price of the electronics as it is my first RC Plane but not compromising on speed or quality.
Thank you in advance.
Here are some pics >> :)
great Plane as your a begineer. If you want to buy electronics You can checkout www.rcbazaar.com for electronics.
Sorry but me too also not good in electronics.
Welcome to the forum :)
Regards,
Aman.
@soham wats the wt of ur model ? u motor shd hav atleast 2:1 thrust ratio
the choice of motor depend on ur model wt
2:1 for a trainer too much it should be around 1:1
Ya weight please
nice model but don't forget to paint it
Thank you Aman .
I am glad you liked it . :)
I checked www.rcbazaar.com but most electronics there are Out of Stock . :banghead:
you could think for the cf2822 or 2812
2812 is in stock here http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=93&zenid=vefb0kcck7e5qt96b6sv0m4u40 (http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=93&zenid=vefb0kcck7e5qt96b6sv0m4u40)
soham try rcdhamaka.com
Yea thats also good !!!
The approx. weight of the plane is 50 grams .
@soham good
now the battery i would recommend 1300mah wt = 100g approx
motor go with emax 2805 wt = 50g
choose recommend prop for that motor
esc max 20amp wt = 20g
ur appox model wt become 220g

Thanks @sharank :)
Can I get a battery like 2200mah , to get more flight time ?
yes u can but it add a little more wt
check the link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bku911y3wr63w00/weight.xlsx (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bku911y3wr63w00/weight.xlsx)
Thank you Nitesh for your detailed reply :)
Thank you too @sharank :)
keep spare props first time u might break a few :)
Okay ! I'll buy spares ;)
And how do I paint , any suggestion ?
most of the items I listed are out of stock but you could always ask the dealer when will they be in stock
and for the battery you should not exceed 1800mah you will get plenty of flight time with that
any paint which you get in stationery shop
warning paint will increase weight
@soham http://edallhobby.com/ they hav 2200mah in stock
and always check the balance of ur plane after adding wt
Thank you guys ...
Thank you very much for your help :)
anytime there to help :)
Soham nice work there
Thank you harsh :)
You can use spray paint for an easy way.... Easily available at car mod shops
I think spray paint damages theromocol :headscratch:
Sorry...but i didn't knew tht....if it does then try another methods :)
Hehe its okay !
I am a beginner too ;D
Hey soham when you finish painting and fitting all electronics dont forget to post the pics and the video wish you best of luck my friend :) ;)
Regards,
Aman:)

Do not go with 2200mah lipo. according to your pics the plane have short wingspan. as it is smaller plane, the 2200 lipo will increase the wing loading. will not fly good.
As this is your first plane try to make it light weight.
Ya ofcourse I will post the pics ;) @aman
Thanks @swizera ... so which battery should I prefer ? ???
soham,
any 3cell 800 to 1300 mah lipo, will be fine. Which will not increase the weight.

this will also work.
Can I get this motor
http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=100_93&products_id=273
with this ESC

Battery :

or

Thank you in advance _/\_
i would suggest to go for a 30 amps esc....
n battery 1500 mah should be good.
i would suggest to buy 2 batteries .......u dont want to go to field with just 1 battery...
and dont forget the lipo charger if you dont have one..
NOTE: senior forum members please correct me if im wrong.... :salute:
Hello Soham,
Your plane is too good for first attempt. But do not make/ buy electrics for this plane.
First visit some field and see how the RC plane looks like...... your plane needs control surfaces which are not easy to make.....
i would strongly suggest to first see an RC plane ... give it a second try then buy electrics... cause what you have invested on this plane is <2-3% of what you intend to spend on electronics and transmitter.
the aerofoil shape of wings as seen in pic is wrong..... thickest part of wing should be @ ~ 35% of chord from leading edge. Also you are wrong for the weight as well the airframe you have made must be >100 Grms use a weighing scale + a lot more weight is yet to be added... motor mount, control surfaces, landing gear ( if you want safe landings ;D), servos , control rods etc etc
and for electrics go for <1000Mah battery and a blue wonder motor with 10-12 amp esc.....for a 1200 mm wing span and <500grm plane.
I agree with rastsaurabh +1 :) ;)

Yes, it will eat through when sprayed over naked thermocol. But since you have covered your model with paper, it should be okay.
Patch up any exposed foam, sand it down smooth and spray it over. I've tried it and it works.
Good luck.
Okay ! Okay !
Thanks Anjan . :)
well by using water, newspaper, fevicol you will be making it very heavy
Hello I am new to this forum .I want to build a rc plane I am having a 1100kv brushless motor.what lipo and esc will best for this?
what are the specs of the motor?
without watts,
it can be anywhere from 80 watts to 500 watts. What are the amp ratings?
I don't know .Its Rotobotix 1100kv Brushless Outrunner
See this post. http://www.rcindia.org/beginners-zone/perfect-beginner-thermocol-rc-plane/msg241545/#new
I don't know .Its Rotobotix 1100kv Brushless Outrunner
Soham, buy 2 bottles of fabric paint ( white and red ). It is very light weight and also shiny when some fevicol is mixed with water at 2:1 ratio of fevicol with water. Then dump this bottle full in that. Then, you will be ready to paint and it will look shiny.
hi i am new on group,
please tell me , u used locally available thermocole or any hi denicity material
The best way to strengthen Thermocol is not to add fevicol and cover with paper, but to cover it with thin plastic food wrap(available in stationary stores) This won't add much weight, make it crash proof (mild) and you can easily spray paint it to your colour choice.
Which is best Thermacol or Choroplast.
Thermocol lighter than coro. So for a real slow flier, Thermocol or laminated depron is better than coro.
Dear Soham,
you may look into my private message to you regarding your model.... You need to do a lot mode to get a model to fly the way you want....
Best Wishes.
