Fantabulus Sarad! how you cut the shape so good? Looks real good. But be extra careful while putting the Motor base plate as upto 4-5 degree of shift may go unnoticed with naked eyes. Do lots of Dry fitting before gluing the base. Use some screws as well as I have a bad experience with similar mount.

Cant wait to see the plane get the skin!

Thanks Medicineman & Atul,

It is little heavier then i thought, the fuselage weight is 310 grams & the wing is 210 grams. Tonight i am planning to cover the wing, i will put the exact weight once the model is ready.
I thing the total weight will be 1000 grams.

I have not decided for a motor yet.

The mount looks awesome. Is it going to be glued to the wing?

1kg is quite heavy for a glider.. I think it'll be slightly under that.. What was ur target AUW?

Thanks,

No, mount will be fixed on the wing with rubber band.

My target was 900 grams with all the electronics, but i think it will 1kg now.

With a 60x8 inch wing, 1kg is pretty light IMO.

Cool work...
It will be a bad idea to fix the motor mount with ONLY rubber band. 1 kg as of now will require a lot of pusher power to work. a simple unbalanced prop or deviation in fixing the mount may leads to disaster to entire plane.

Fly high if you have good set of batteries.....!

Not if you wanna glide around forever with the motor switched off.. My plane is 60x8" and around 1000gms (dont know the exact weight) and I still find it too heavy to glide properly.. But then again i'm new at flying so it may be my fault :) My friend comes to the field with his Multiplex Easyglider and stays up forever with the motor switched off.. Man that thing can glide!

Thanks xxkrishxx, SunLikeStar, sandeepm &
medicineman1987.    :)

Sandeep thanks for the suggestion, but my friend has the same model & weighs 970 grams & he flys with the same type of mount using rubber band. If you look at the post  #61 picture, i have just put 2 rubberband each side, that is just to show how the mount will sit on the wing, but i will use more rubber band.

Thanks    :)

1Kg is too heavy even for a glider. But regarding the motor mount, you should test for in-flight shifting of the mount from any vibrations with the motor running. You don't want thrust direction changing or shifting in-flight! Even for the motor mount could lighten it by cutting out sections. Frankly, for the motor mount a skeleton about 10mm wide should be  more than sufficient.

R C

Thanks tg.

I will do the test.
