Title: Ordering Seaplanes from HK
Post by: aviator on March 01, 2012, 09:27:23 PM
Hi guys,

Have been thinking off lately about seaplanes and flying them of a lake/pond near my home (Thanks to govt. of India for the upcoming Tawi Lake project).

Have ordered 02 seaplanes right away.

Here's the specs.....

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16548__CL_415_Canadair_1390mm_ARF_.html

and

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17382__PBY_Catalina_1380mm_PNF_.html

Thanks to HK, the shipping to India was not possible, so shipping it via Dubai through my brother.

Will set my hands on catalina b4 Roopesh Sir build one for me.... (:|~ (:|~ (:|~ (:|~

Looking for right motor for the Canadair....Any suggestions? Pl indicate links from HK. One of the conical prob is stick mount that i have to use for building it.

Well, i am a little apprehensive about issues mid air....Wats the resue plan in a seaplane if it crashes over water ... :headscratch:
(P.S : I don't knw swimming.... ;) ). Do we have boats etc for the rescue. Pls lemme know so that i can also have them before i loose any precious model.  8-)

these foamies have extremely high bouyancy .. every part will float even they are shattered.. I am not sure about other electronics..but motor will definitely survive in worst crashes..

Hi,First of al congrats for being owner of 2 seaplanes.(my frendz would have ordered without delay "PARTY" :D).

Why shipping is not possible in India?
Bcoz of d customs or Hk denied?
I thouth exactly u thought in case plane crash in lake.
I think swimming is very essenstial part of rescue.(especially for seaplane owners ;)).

I have a poll for al rc members.
Suppose u r flying ur very expensive seaplane near a lake and it crashed in the running lake and u dont know swimming. No boat available.Only a man availabe who know to swim but he is charging 3/4th the price of ur plane for rescue. What will you do.
1) Jump in the lake without thinking about anything.
2) give the man 3/4th of the models cost money.
3)wait til night for the plane to come at the lake's bank.
4)leave it there.
5)laught or cry or both.(in some cases ).
6)start making a boat for urself.

I wish swimming could be learned online!
Rc swimmers! Give us some tips in case of emergency.WOrst case scenario.

Well,
First of all, the shipping to India is hell of a cost... EMS only... and EMS + Customs =  :Rs: :Rs: :Rs: :Rs: :Rs: :Rs: :Rs: :Rs: :Rs:
So, thought of getting it thru dubai..luckly my bro is there making some software for the saudis..
Well, RC boats is a goof option... but i am zero in terms of knowledge abt it..
Where to get them.... which transmitter to use..etc etc...
Man,now i feel, crashes on ground are much easier...atleast u get the plane to repair... ;)

Hi it is my very first day on rc india.
I have much more experience in float plane flying. It is a normal model flying until unles of the engine before takoff or before landing.then only option is left that or you swim or other person /boat can help to recover the model. other vise wait for self coming to shore.other method is r/c boat but it should be 100% contrable .
:hatsoff:
