HEllo rcindia, with great help from VC sir and i bought coro sheets for free and already building the fusealage.this is my first time and many mistakes too!
keep doing . . .
"Bought coro sheets for free........." ???
All the best!
UMM..completed this much.
{:)}
4mm is better
VC sir,
i just updated my motor to this one.as everybody suggested me to go with a more powred motor. ;) ;) ;) ;)
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1478-odin-2836-kv1000-thrust-1000-gms.aspx
What is your airframe weight and the wing dimension (Cord and span) ?
I Think the motor will be overpowered if your AUW is about 700-800 gm.
You may consider 2822 or DT700 or donky3007, bell type motors.
Yes sir i have an emax 2812.Sir really ??? ??? ???.what a fool iam :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:i just ordered it from rc bazaar.what shoild i do now?i am onto full avispad building like 1500mm wingspan.will it not work sir.?
VC: Even I want to buy Corro Sheets for free from you ;D ;D
Yes. forgot to tell about the free coro :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
sheets.heres the story. (:|~
after vc sir gave me the details of coro supplier.i phoned the supplier and he asked me for what reason did i need them. i said i wanted to make a good plane outta it.next he asked me if i was a college student and said yes(though iam in 12th!! :giggle: :giggle:)and alas, he siad he would give me 2 sheets 6*6 size of any thickness.hats off to that man and vc sir.vc sir had already told me that he is a very helpful person.and i dont think he would give them for free the next ime i meet him!!!!! :giggle: :giggle:
BTW.my fuselage in 4mm.and wings 2mm.is that sufficient?
:hatsoff: :hatsoff: :hatsoff: :hatsoff:
some more.please the senior members who have made this please give suggestions
regards,
kartik
ne suggestions on tail wheel?
May be completed with in today what says KC!!! {:)} {:)}
howz it guys?
The airframe looks good.
For your future builds you should have the coro for the wing aligned in such a way, that the flutes run parallel to the chord and not spanwise(which is what you have done in this case). This will ensure a smooth leading edge and will prevent formation of sharp crease marks, where instead of a smooth curve you get discrete changes in slope.
Secondy, I hope you don't have too much dihedral in the wings because it will be counter productive if you plan to use ailerons, you will always have to fight it throughout the flight. The plane will be inherently stable in the roll because you have the wing over the fuselage; 'keel effect' .
thnk u for replying.yes i think dehedral is a bit more angular and is it neccessary to use ailerons?
No, it is not necessary to use ailerons initially. You may implement it later.
okay so i have only the elevator and the rudder.
guys i just burnt my esc.!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't fly with that wing joint. It could come undone.
Needs wood reinforcement on the spar centre, and wrap on the outside (use 2 mm Corro)
As Rohit said above, in Corro wings, the flutes run perpendicular to the spar
Check spadtothebone
Great build nonetheless, keep on spadding! You are doing just dandy!
dont knw man.first whn my frnd connected it to batt. it became red hot.then next day when i connected to my 1500kv motor. it just did not move.but when i tried next the esc got burnt. is it because i did not cover the gold connectors?and they were SCing each each other?
Oh, My God.
Then take HK 25-30A ESC for 450/- available to LHS.
At least connect ESC with motor and insulate, then apply Voltage. But without receiver connection, you cannot rotate the motor except beeps.
Yes sir.Just ordered two red brick ESC's-25 amps.is RB good?
Red bricks just do the job. :)
will that mean that i'll regret after buying it?
NO! Not at all. That will suit your application fairly well.
8-) 8-)
RED BRICKs are just the robust one that can do the job perfectly, without extra features.
Sir.i have a doubt.an esc will be and esc.what features do other costlier ones have?
1. Higher throttle refresh rate (this is taken into consideration for multirotors)
2. Data logging (like motor temp, amps consumed, etc.) eg. turnigy super-brain ESCs
3. Throttle reverse through Tx stick combinations.(=> no swapping of wires is needed after you've soldered or connected wires to reverse throttle) Several Pentium ESCs have this feature.
Guys, i mounted the motor on coro solidily.but the vibration is too much and i guess the prop adapter is not fitting well. Will a piece or two thermocol help absorb vibrations.my motor is this..

regards,
kartik.
Should i mount the motor on ply?
Madhira
1. Post pics of your engine mounting arrangement. Do NOT attempt to fly with your damaged X mount frame, and having 2 adjacent mount screws is bad, asking for trouble
2. Fix your wing centre. It can come apart in mid air: use a wood dihedral brace
Sanjay
okay sir im uploading the pics here.(not to u r email)
file size error!rai sir please check u r mail!

I hope this is of help to you. I have seen the pics you posted of the Engine mount: just mount it directly on 4 mm plywood cut to size to just fit in the fuse, and use 10mm X 2mm dia Self Tapping Screws to secure it.
Please reinforce the wing centre properly, if nothing else put a full 4" wrap around the centre. It is a highly stressed part, and many in-flight failures happen here
All the best, and feel free to contact me, or I am sure any of the wonderful guys on the forum, for any further help you may need
Get someone experienced to help you with your first few flights....it helps! :)
sir im on electric version not the glow version!newways thank u very much sir!!!
Madhira: my point is not the engine. I KNOW you are on electric (I can read, you know)
The important point here (in case you missed it) is how to mount an engine and how to strengthen a wing centre
thank u very much sir.making a good mount from ur links.thanks a lot!
Help guys.this isnt flying.!!!!
First thing i didnt take off on a runway. i just just shooted it from shoulder height.is there nethng wrong in this?
Second,
I did the cg correct.Photos u can see.Only one thing is that the motor mount somewhat overlaps a bit of the front part.so does this aerodynamically disturb anything?
guys please help me!
help!
Hi guys.My avispad eventually flew!phew! Now iam onto building another one. Please suggest me a motor.
AUW-800-900 gms approx.
wingspan-1250mm
type-trainer with dihedral.
help guys!
Does your AUW include motor & battery? Then a 2826 will be fine...someone is selling one cheap (Rs. 600) on this forum
yes.complete with battery.

Grab it fast!
"As a general rule of thumb, If the same size motor is offered in several different kV options, the higher kV options will be more powerful. This isn't always true, but usually it's how it works. The downside is that the high kV motors require a smaller prop than the lower kV, so they're not a good choice for 3D/aerobatics where you want max prop wash over the control surfaces."
Quoted
This motor should develop a maximum of 340 W, so should be good for your application, and, being versatile, will be handy for other models too
will this be enough?
