i have  started  building body for my  First  plane .....   Blu Baby 33"
i  have chosen some  electric gear  and  want  seniors  to correct me ....    If  it's wrong choice !!

Motor :  (image below)

Li-po :   1800mAh  20c  11.1 v

ESC :   30 A- 3v (BEC)  mystery ESC

Transmitter : (image below)

charger : TURNIGY ACCUCEL-6 50W 6A BALANCER/CHARGER

servo's : 9g/1.6 kg  Micro servo.

All   seniors  need  your  help .....

which glue can i use ??   in the form  it's  said  fevibond  and  araldite  can be used ..........
but   foam  is  melting  a bit  for   fevi-bond !!!     what  to use  now  ??

buzz_rc

Fevi-bond should not be used on foam, it will simply eat through it... use fevicol or araldite 5 min epoxy...always check on a scrap piece of foam first.

 ajith..
would like to say that the motor you are using is an overkill for that plane, dnt need somuch power for a sober flying plane like the BB. cycle spokes deform/bend every time you land, so if possible, use 'spirng steel' wire instead. Its quite durable, 3mm should be good enough.  Also as mentioned here, use araldite KLEAR or Bondtite as epoxy glue for foamies.

do post your progress..

buzz_rc

The build pics have been taken from the original RCG thread. I think he means to say that this (the attached picture) is what his plane looks like.. :)

Ajith you can use hot glue. It adds weight but will not be very significant if you learn hot to use it properly. Fevicol works well too but takes time to set.

i think 2822 motor is good enough for this model, u dont need so much thrust!!!! as Amar said it will overkill!!!!!!

all the best!!!

Foam Safe CA would be the best choice of glue for fast building. If you don't mind waiting for the glue to cure you may also use Fevicol  wood glue.

Samanth

CA would work well, but I normally use a thin layer of 5-min Epoxy(araldite). Using too much of epoxy would make your plane heavy.

About the motor,

I have used hextronik 24gm 1300kv motor, works well for 33 blubaby.

About the adhesives,

I have used,
Araldite Klear, Bondtite and Decoration glue. All good for foams.

About Monobloc,

Make sure you make groves for motor wire and wires that run from ESC to the battery.

About wing,

Make sure your wing is 4-40 Undercambered. 4% camber at 40% on the wing. Use a little heat while bending depron otherwise it will crack. Make a nice dihedral and dont forget to re-inforce the wings.

Hope this helps!

Ajith you should seriously start building now, its been a while. And whats the point in posting someone else's five years old build pics :-\

i  am  using  Araldite  glue....

i was  building  my plane  at my  friends  house .....   (as it's  near  to my college..)     so  couldn't  post  Original  Pic  { since  posted  similar  pic}

What  do  you Mean  By  " THE  MOTOR  YOU  ARE  USING  IS  AN   OVER KILL FOR  THAT  PLANE "

I thought  of  using  this  motor  for    other  Heavy  Planes ... i am planning  to build  a  MIG 21  (large one)
so..  what  actually  will  be  the  problem  for  this  one ??

I  am  thinking  of  flying  on  a  low  Throttle  =  Enough power  for  this  plane !!

will   i  have  any  serious (Un-solvable) problem in flying  with  this  motor  and  plane  PAIR  ??

what  i made   looks  like  this ..

What  do  you Mean  By  " THE  MOTOR  YOU  ARE  USING  IS  AN   OVER KILL FOR  THAT  PLANE "

He wants to say that motor will provide much more power than required.

How much heavy plane do you want to build?

ajith

so  will  i  have  any  Un-solvable   problem ??  :banghead:
I am  thinking  of   flying  at  a  low  throttle   enabling  lesser  power  out put ....  For  this  plane ......   :-\

can  i do  that ...... ??

Another  Problem ::   :o

i  am  trying  to build  a cambered wing   SHOWN  BELOW.   (:|~                       the  wing design  with  the  plan  IS  DIFFERENT
If  i follow  the  one  not  from  the  plan  then   how  shall  i  fix  it ??    Fuselage  has  a  curve-slot   for  the  wing      :headscratch:

What  shall  i do ??     shall  i  Cut   the  fuselage  accordingly  to  fit  the  new  designed  wing  to fit properly and  give a good  smooth aerodynamic  shape ??

ajith

shall  i  make  the  wing  as in  1st  image  above
or
simply  follow  the  plan??

What shall  i Do ??

How to join rudder  to the plane ??

SunLikeStar

If this is your first plane then stick to the plan.

Fixed  to  Follow  The  plan ......    Seniors  advice             Thank You     Sunlikestar  and   augustinev   sir.

Well, if you go by common sense / thumb rules, too big a power plant will increase the AUW of the plane.  It is not only the weight of the motor, it could also be the added weight of a bigger battery that you may need.

The second aspect is changes in CG, which can be fatal to the plane if you are not careful about this.

Not sure which of these will affect your particular situation (if at all!), but that is the general thought process on putting oversized power systems on planes.

anwar  sir,

motor weight : 55 gm  ;  204 W ; 18A ; 1270 Kv .

Li-po weight : 153 gm ; 1800mAh ; 20c .

ESC : 25 gm ; 30A .

will   balancing  the plane  properly  Solve  most  of  my  problems ??
most  of  the  motors  come  in  a 35-55 gm  range ....   so is  this  acceptable ??
