hi

airplane specification

i use 1700 kv motor with 900 mah 7.4volt lipo , prop 8x4 size it is controlled by aileron and elevation , we have throttle , elevator and aileron controls

length is 24 " wing is 32"

using two 9 grm servos and my avionic 7 channel transmitter

also i am using ordinary thermocol which fly everywhere so it cost me nothing

for structure strength i am using wooden rods

no hot wire cutter no proper sending also thats why i do not post any closeup picture

i put lots of tape ,  my friend call it     mummy

that not the brown one which  i should use but it is transparent so does not irritate so much  but it is everywhere on the airplane.

i am using no plans no downloads nothing

for power  weight ratio , i can say it is 1:2 not exactly but approx near to twice the power as compared to its weight that is 260 grms pretty light yaa naaa

which include 9 grm weight of landing gear ,

this time my landing gear is also light last time it was 20 grms approx.

that enough English sorry for spell mistake.

So what next

flight performance:

today morning as its sun day  so i decided to make it my fun day

i start with morning flying i made vertical climb perform two loops few rolls and their after vertical landing

here is the result

wing got broke down i repaired it at afternoon and also i repair inside the motor also   see the mounting point i repaired .

mounting of the motor build from coro sheet i mount it using rubber band
landing gear also mounted using rubber band

get back to the flying this evening

@wingmanbunty
Would you like to see ashok baijals biofoam models for quality of build and finish?
Why do you think he got the sweepstakes prize with Sanjay sir?

wingmanbunty

all i can say about this model

it is fast build but it is not that bad

i think wing should be little smaller

what i think is it is extra light weight

i will make some more improvement in that model
EAT ,SLEEP , FLY

wingmanbunty

yes sir  i had seen that model very nice neat and clean
:salute:

its a fast build i am also preparing my hot wire machine for new build i was just testing this material

sir

i was busy uploading video on youtube

i remember that airplane post in your biplane build and i got everything so i edited it

sir you know hard work behind building the model inspired everybody and it
makes me  (:|~

Wow! Great.
This is how videos should be. Short and to the point.
Well done sir!

wingmanbunty

thanks  for support

this model is not final it need lots of improvement today was first testing day .

Everybody is flying, except me... BTW, nice bunty saab, nice takeoff.. better suited for carrier takeoff/landings :D

wingmanbunty

i made some changes in the airplane

hope it will improve the performance

i made dihedral more so that c.g  will work for me little bit

done lots of sanding on the wings (60 no paper , 120 no paper and 360 no paper)
covered with brown tape try to improve the wings of airplane for batter lift

flying 300 grm range foamy airplane in 15 mph or above in headwind is little bit
tricky task

i tried to make same situation on simulator , i was able to control the airplane

but on ground situations are really different form the simulator

any tips from the pilots will be of great help. :help:

some time we build model which are so light weighted that when we try to fly them in head wind they are just blown away by the wind to the end of the filed and we have to made emergency landing

it seem nobody was able to reply my post so i search little bit and got
some information , as i am thinking it could be helpful to others in the same situation

(1) make the elevator little downward it will make model to dive the weight of the airplane will work and we lost some altitude but can go ahead in the head wind this is used by glider pilots to fly glider in the
strong head wind

(2)make airplane a little bit nose heavy  so that it can perform batter in the heavy winds as i was doing when i was kid and flying kites i used to put small stone at the tail of the kite to make it able to fly in high wind

it seem not good to reply my own post i think little bit , but the second thought came it could help other so why not ,as you can see in the very short to point video my airplane made almost a jump take off
. it does not seem me okay as a designer of this airplane so
i reconsider the design

anybody want to help most welcome.

Its simple.... it is called stability for any object.  The more stable it is the better it flies.... the less stable the more drift and other problems come in.  Traditionally a heavier nosed aircraft is more dynamically and statically stable than that with a lighter nose.

Your first contention is absolutely wrong.  The model must have enough stability and power to fly in the wind.  Even in real aeroplanes the same principles apply.  A lighter aeroplane gets thrown around in strong winds or turbulence where as a heavier aeroplane flies well even in strong winds.  Its all got to do with stability and power available.  Yes it does not mean that the aeroplanes have very high thrust to weight ratio... many fly below a thrust to weight ratio of below .5 but are still stable.  For gliders read the chapter on Gliding and Gliding in winds. You will understand how it works.  Gliders do not have an engine but the Gravity helps them get what is necessary for them to glide.....

Happy flying.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

wingmanbunty

so

today i had done the throttle test of the airplane

here it goes.

what changes i should made

because i am planning to test flight it again

what should be expo and D/r

Bunty,
I presume you know dual rate concept.
If in doubt, its like this.
First set the EPA (end point adjustment) so that your servos dont stall at full movement of stick.
This will be 100% on the current DR switch position.
This is the max movement. If you wish, you can reduce it to say 80%
Now turn the DR switch to its other position.
Here reduce the percentage to say 50%.
you can test fly with the DR  in LOW.

EXPO
To start with, the control throw is proportional to the stick input.
Expo allows you to change this.
If you set the expo to -20 or -30, the response of the controls will be reduced near neutral, without affecting the total throw.
Depending on your Tx, you can set expo for one or both DR settings.

What i use for a new model is:
1. DR1  50%, expo -20-30% for first test
2. DR2  80%, expo -20-30% after initial test flights

Later i can always set DR2 to 100% and expo to zero!

Caution: check your tx manual for expo setting, whether - or + for soft centre!

wingmanbunty

i reconsider the design when i see it was drifted away by the wind and vertical fell from the sky

today i made the test flight of the airplane again

this after noon i was charging the batteries  i thought lots of responsibilities as everyone would like to see the success part of this airplane
what if anything goes wrong  , it doesn't matter to me but this time it happens to me.

my landing gear broke down when i was fitting it in the airplane so on the spot  i rebuild a new set of landing gear

when i reach to the field i found no wind at all . it is nil wind condition hardly i got the idea of headwind

EAT ,SLEEP , FLY

wingmanbunty

on takeoff

airplane  headed upside i was flying with the expo and D/R so no elevator at all to compensate for that on the spot i flip the switch
(ie on the left side of my tx )its one of the best  decision i made as a pilot
i got all the controls at 6 feet above  the ground i got all my elevator i headed back to the skies

soon i got all my rudder and aileron the same way  , i was flying without any programming.

look i got two friends their to join me

these are rajasthani eagle these are hunter birds using thermals fly very high altitude all i can say about these birds are
perfect killing machine .

so i got lots of them. it did not bother me first  i was okay with the situation ,soon  it seem to me a dog fight going to start.

it will be batter for me to land so i made a very good approach i used to land at the empty part of the field away from the visitors
so i first cut the throttle to half then i use 25 percent of throttle with very less control inputs

i got very good glide then cut the throttle make a very gentle land on the ground you can see the sound of landing gear touching the ground
just near the end of the video

everybody takes pictures when i reach near the airplane the plane made a perfect landing as you can see in the photo

everybody on the ground has the smiling faces

visitors were happy , i was  happy that i am going home with all my electronics and airplane one piece

all thanks to vivek ji,  K K Iyer sir and everybody  for supporting me
for the success of this project.

the project is over

thanks for joining me.
