RC plane from scratch.. !!

After seeing many posts in this forum, I am very much motivated and decided to build an RC plane. From the suggestions of many seniors, I've purchased Flysky CT6B 6 channel, 2.4 GHz Tx and FS- R6B Receiver ( good value for :Rs: ). I've been practicing flying on simulator from the past 1 month and I'm quite comfortable with it now. Now I wanna advance to next step and start building my plane. But I am not aware of the basics things. I just know the names and working of some parts but, do not know about making connections and the parameters need to be observed in purchasing the components that meet my requirement. Firstly I wanted to test the servos on the Rx, so I purchased four TurnigyTG9e 9g servos. Here comes the problem !!  ???  what type of LiPo battery should I purchase and what should be its specifications ? After going through the Flysky website I found the Rx power supply range to be 4V -8.4V. But the maximum operating voltage of servo is 5v. What is the solution for this ??  ??? I've heard that if we use a battery with high voltage and an average current rating (1200-1600 mAh) we can fly for long time (12-15min). So please help me out with this ! :-\

In HK I can find many RTF planes and they are very expensive  :( !! I want to build a plane from scratch.. !! I'm planning to purchase some 3mm depron sheets and some other stuff !! Please help me in choosing the appropriate battery for FS- R6B receiver.

Viper, i hope you are going to assemble an electrically powered RC model aircraft.. if so, you must need a good brushed or brushless motor, according to your need, ( size and type of the machine), but a brushless motor is more efficient than brushed, so you must need an ESC also.( Electronic Speed Controller). so, while buying the ESC, make sure the ESC is equpped with BEC supply, that the BEC supply is to power your receiver.. the output of the BEC supply will be 4.8 to 5 volts.. so, you do not need a secondary power supply unit for the receiver.. or if you are making a machine with IC engine, you can make a good battery pack, while using low self discharge NiMh cells in high amps.. for electrically powered planes everything will be easy.. the 11.1 or 7.4 volt of the main battery will be regulated within the ESC, and you can simply power the receiver with the three core flat cable with connector provided from the ESC..

collect one or two coroplast sheets of 2mm, in to 8X4 or 8X5 feet sheets, costs about 120 or 130 Rs/- and start to build planes.. keep the aspect ratio in to 5:3:1.5:1.. will fly.. a 50 inch spanned aircraft will be so stable and will be easy to fly.. a 1000 rpm/Volts, 160 or 200 watt motor will be great for 50 inch wingspan.. you can make 4 channel or three channel aircraft as you wish.. but a 4 channel will be more versatile as you can control it easy.. a 7 inch chorded aircraft will be nice.. and make two machines so you can keep one as reserve as you learn to fly.. and by making with coro sheets how much you lost if it crashed..? make one again.. fly it enjoy it.. add wide track landing gears, will be more easy to take off and landings..

Firstly I would like to thank you very much for you time and such a valuable suggestions  :hatsoff: . And your model is really good. It helped me to get a basic idea ..
I'm planning for a 11.1v 3s 25c 1600mAh Lipoly battery. So what should be my ESC specification ? 20A ESC with a BEC is sufficient ? Will it be compatible with a 1400kV outrunner motor ? And also about the battery charger ? Is this one good ?

I have seen this because it is cheap and also have a balancer.
And also you have mentioned about the coroplast sheets of 2mm. But the thickness seems very less :O and can it be used for fuselage?? Also I couldn't find them at such a low price !! Can you please help me in giving the details..

will help u immensely to store lipos at optimum Voltage... as u cant store them while they are fully charged or discharged ...... eithr case tey will swell up ... rendering them useless
and ofcourse will help u avoiding overdrainage of battery rendering them permanently dead...
so there wont be a need for advanced charger if u have these crucial functions

Viper.. 2mm coro sheets is good for wing and fuse.. at your town, please ask to dealers once.. here it costs about 120/Rs..for a full sheet.. and 3 mm will be heavy and stiffer.. but 2mm will gives us stiffness and light weight when formed in to a structure..

Viper, a 11.1 volt 1600 mA/H battery is good.. or a 11.1 volt 1800 mA/H and 11.1 volt 2200 mA/H also works fine with a big aircraft.. but the flight time will vary accordingly.. and we do not forget about the clay or led ballast weights used to balance CG on our plane.. so, instead of adding some extra weights, we can use the extra weight of high rated battery as ballast.. beneficial..
a 20 Amps ESC will be inferior, especially for a big spanned plane.. a good 30 Amps ESC will carry on.. because a 30 Amps ESC will not weighs much than a 20 Amps one.. and after unpacking the ESC, make sure the settings are appropriate.. means battery type selection, cut off threshold, and mode of cut offs etc.. if your ESC in to NiMh mode, your LiPoly battery will damage.. if you properly programmed your ESC your battery never fails.. because the ESC never allow the battery to discharge deeply.. and if you are adding a less capacity ESC add an aluminum heat sink over the MOSFET side of the ESC, and keep it outside of the craft with wire ties.. this allows to cool ESC in flight..landing gear prevents any damage to esc while landing and take offs..

for our own work, it is good to buy a new motor.. and you will get a data sheet with motor suggesting the ratings and needed props in a given voltage.. my proven favorites are 1000 RPM/Volts 160 watt for normal performance, but an 880 RPM/Volts motor for nice performance..
and make a plane from coro.. inexpensive.. you can add any colour and decals according to your taste..

will works nicely.. a 4 channel will be good.. no worry about high expenses.. no worry about crashes..
and you can find many good chargers from hobby shops.. i am using the I max B3.. from years..

roopeshkrishna bro ..Your suggestions are very valuable !! I've seen that you have used wood in your design. Is it balsa wood ?can you please post the design of that white colour model. It's really nice and I am interested in building a similar one.
And, what is NiMh mode in ESC ? does it have any toggle switch for that ?
And what is a programmable ESC ?

nanotech turnigy / flightmax zippy....... different brand names for lipos.... these lipos are lighter in weight and also smaller in size than normal turnigy / zippy lipos.... coz they have some kind of advanced lithium polymer....
some believe that they even last longer.... 150 cycles against 100 charge cycles ...... but i hav found that its only ur usage more than type that determines life of lipo.......

ofcourse with these advantages....... these lipos are costlier than conventional once....

But the discharge plug of turnigy nano tech is Mini-Tamiya (Mini Molex). Is it similar to that of normal XT60 ? And if i purchase a normal ESC do I need to change the plug of battery ??

And also I've read in HK about ESC -
"Do not use with motors of 3S or greater with a Kv of more than 2000rpm/v. Doing so will overload the ESC." what does that mean ? motors of 3s ?
