Everyone knows SkySurfer is the best plane type in the market,
I wanted to make my own skysurfer according to my needs.. I hate to leave my electronics in the plane, if I am not flying it and also if I cant take them out without destroying the plane...
So to over come this problem I designed the fuselage in such a way that every thing in the plane is easily reachable and you can install the electronics after the plane is assembled.. Including the motor and the elevator and the rudder servo.
I have already worked on this plane earlier but that model didn't flew at ALL!
This time I took the dimensions of the SkySurfer V3 which is available on Rcbazaar.com . That is 1500mm wing span!
Last time I made the technical drawing on the graph chart which was a hard and time consuming job as I had to make it two times, One for the NON USE so that I can make changes in it and the second one for the actual use to make the templates of the plane.
Let me tell you that I have been thinking of this plane from last 2 years, want proof, you got it!
So anyways, in these 2 years I started with SketchUp make, which is a free 3D modelling software.. and for the full functions you can download the crack version from torrent...
So I scanned my graph drawings and imported the pictures in the sketchup.
NOTE I STARTED THIS PROJECT ON MAY 31ST OF THIS YEAR AND SO FAR I HAVE MADE THE 1/2 FUSELAGE AND THE ELEVATOR AND THE RUDDER THIS INCLUDES THE MAKING OF THE PLANE'S PLANS ON SKETCHUP, I DIDNT WORKED ALL THE DAYS..ONLY SOMEDAYS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS ENTRY WILL BE CONSIDERED OR NOT
Here are the PLANShttps://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6A4iXmPC3LPMExKZFdINmlReVE&usp=drive_web (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6A4iXmPC3LPMExKZFdINmlReVE&usp=drive_web) for this plane.
So the other half of half of the fuselage with the canopy and the bottom hatch is completed today.. Here are the pictures..
Working on the wings...
day 2
Fuse is done with the wings, motor mount glued in place, just have to screw the motor in place, did some dry fits.. holds prerry good,
Fevicol is used to glue the layers... Hot glue dries very fast and you don't get a good finish..
Need to make the hinge for the moving surfaces (all of them), glue the V stab and H stab in place, install control horns and its good to go!
:thanks:
Very neat cutting of depron..... how it was done .... Nice idea of clamp.
Thanks!
I used normal blade cutters, blades which are snapable..
Okay, here is the maiden video of this plane!!
https://f4k3url/KOcNfe
The plane is completed, the aileron servo jammed, repairable job.. will fly it soon
If the above link doesnt works https://f4k3url/KOcNfe
does this plans include exact dimensions of the sky surfer or they are just approx to original was thinking to build for myself too .can i sand it too to get shape of outer side of fuselage looking similar to sky surfer .nice build by the way the link for video is not working on my phone can you pls post on you tube
nyc build...
but the given link is not working..
regards
Thanks, here is the link https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=449700898545617&l=466585636313670433
Yes you can sand it down
Can you pls post a tiled plan also
Nice build! {:)}
I read that the servos got jammed. From the video it seems like it's either nose heavy or the throttle wasn't opened enough.
Good luck with your next flight! Will be waiting for the video.
Thanks, A bit nose heavy is what I like. The nose section broke, nothing serious, will be flying on this sunday.
If you zoom in the plans you will find how to print it in tiled form.. Everything is mentioned in the plans itself..
Guys, the above one didnt flew well so I made another one based on Flite Test techniques. the plans will be released soon wit the built video
here is the flight video of the plane

Very nice. Well designed.
Thank you!
