What would be the approximate weight of these bamboo formers?

When made out of Coro, without fuselage, especially empennage, reinforcement, the entire tail section is going to wag and flex. This is evident from Azhagu's 2nd. video as the model takes a sharp turn at 0:15 - 0:20 second mark. What I am surprised at is that inspite of this empennage (tail section) flex, the model flies so well!
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

I'll let you know the exact weight, but its very very light and very good, moreover they come for free! Kalyan da gave me a whole bamboo cylinder(hollow)(about 3 feet long) cut into two semi-cylinders, and i just cut out sticks of desired thickness, and its very easy to cut longitudinally, just take a knife and run through, it will always cut in a straight line.

Hi rohitgupta322, I must say this is a good build plane, I got yak45 from techone, the material is so so so bad, everything arrived twisted from the courier, seemed the material dosnt have a strange of its own.

your plane looks strong and thick, how thick is your material ?

rohitgupta322

Hey thanks, my biofoam sheets are 5mm thick, but they are very sturdy, specially after the bamboo reinforcements.

@VC
Sorry for the late reply was busy for sometime
I dont have any reinforcements except the 3mm carbon rod running through the flutes of the main wing and the elevator. gave some reinforcement near the front of the fuse with 2 pieces of Coro sheet. Yes the plane flexes a lot but then it fly very well.

@rohit
Cool plane. flies great :) . Wish I could get my hands on some biofoam.

rohitgupta322

You may buy a pack of ten sheets of biofoam. Ashok bhaiya(foamybuilder) might still have them for sale. Even I purchased my biofoam sheets from him.

I guess it somewhere around 600 - 700 gms. Same they call it as coro only. You can get it in any advertisement shop. A full sheets cost only 140 Rs.

@Rohit
I dont need 10 sheets :P. Trying to get some 2 or 3 from my bro living in chennai.

At last found a Foam source in Trivandrum. Guess trivandrum is not bad place for RC hobby after all.

This place has high density thermocol of all dimensions from big to small. I found few sheets of Biofoam of 12 mm and 4mm thickness(They seems to be old stock and the owner said the stock will arrive in a month or so) and ofcourse the widely available coro only 3mm.

Hey,
Your twisting fuselage of coro Extra300 without reinforcement (Except carbon fiber wing reinforcement) made Hesper twist resistent with carbon fibre.

Now you just use polyester thread (0.5mm dia that can take appx 50 kg weight, found in roll pattern), stitch with needle with end flute reinforced even with broomstick 2 nos to tide with, with keeping tension equal, and then just wet it with CA. Let him dry.

YAHOO,  your carbon fiber reinforcement will be made. Just check first in spare coro fold.
You see, this don't work with compression/bend, but tension and fixed with CORO too.

I am thinking this idea for anti twisting feature incorporation in single side wing with coro.

Just watched now and cannot restrict myself to point out and giving you my idea. It uses only bottom portion. But I recomend to use top and bottim too, like spiral as your Stick ;D will be white. I was looking sometime for fixing points, which Hesper directly pointed. Oh GOD, you are so grate.

Thanks everyone.
