Hi,
I am making model of an airplane from thermocol. Can I apply Bilux Polyester Putty on it for smoother finish. Here is a pic of a model.
Thanks
Shantanu
Pretty cool
did you see that youtube cessna video and built it
thermocol models are very weak you need to reinforce a lot
Thanks..
It is going to be display model only. However I am going to use Sunboard for wings. That means rebuilding wings all over again. Any idea on applying putty ?
I building one more model of Boeing 737 from thermacol. Will post pics soon..
Shantanu
No, I did not saw any video. Will check soon.
Here are new pics of Cessna with Landing gears :) . Wings are detachable. Again this is a dispaly model only :banghead:
Excellent workmanship there Shantanu,
it won't cost you an arm and a leg to make that thing fly, so please try that, this is too good to be a display model man, am tellin ya
cheers
Thanks.. It can actually fly once motor and other stuff is added. I will make new model of sturdier material for flying.
Pretty Cool man It a good one Will be following the thread with interest ;)
Wing struts added...
Wish it could fly :banghead:

It can fly and if you are having dificulties choosing the right elecs ask all the forum memebers they will help you.
Under carriage legs are too small. Looks like a aircraft dacshund. Your work is good - you
must be creating a lot of foam dust while sanding
Hey just choose right electronics i will also like it to be seen flying :)

Yes.. Its toooo messy
every time i see these pics i feel like building this beauty (:|~ (:|~... waiting eagerly for the exams to get over... :banghead: :banghead:
@ shantanu
Great yar. {:)} Real beautiful. Please paint and FLY this Beauty .
How you sand all the way to get such great shape. It must be a real dedicated work. I also tried to sand thermacol, but its real messy and Impatient job. all those thermacol particles spreading allover the home and sticking to you also.
Sir i apologize to say but I had still not understand how to build and sand the tail portion... ;D
Hi Utkarsh
you can use biofoam for tail or cut out flat sheets of styrofoam of required thickness, using wire cutter and sand a little....it will be easy to make tail then. Also, you can use coropast/sunpac for making tail portions.
Hello,
I am familiar with all these materials but still i want to go with thermocol. The thing that i am not getting is that if i am using a 10mm thick HD thermocol sheet then how to make the tapered part that is the part behind the wing to tail as seen in second pic of this thread. The each single wall of fuselage build from plan made up of HD sheet would have to be forcibly bent from almost near the trailing edge extending to tail to make that taper which would break the sheet. If it is done in two parts it won't be that accurate leading to a joint in fuselage that would be a weak one.
Kindly comment on this. :banghead: :banghead:

I actually bent the sheet and stick it. But this will cause tail section fragile. You need to reinforce it.
Thank you sir. :hatsoff:
Even i did this thing in my last built. It was also a Cessna. But it crashed badly :banghead: :'( :'( :(
I would be also reinforcing it this time in my Cessna.
And Finally... Models are (B737 and Cessna) handed over to its owner yesterday :banghead: :'(
:o :o :o (:|~ (:|~ (:|~
Beautiful! A work of art {:)} {:)} :salute:
This is not fair for such a beauty.
May I know the place this is going to be displayed
Thanks...
This will be put up in a Phonix Marketcity mall at Kurla,Mumbai. A unique concept introduce by Flight4Fantasy where people can experience Boeing 737 flight simulation and other aircrafts like Cessna & fighter jets into actual 1:1 scale flight simulator. Pls visit http://www.flight4fantasy.com/ (http://www.flight4fantasy.com/) for more understanding. I yesterday visited their setup and it is amazing its real 737 cockpit man (:|~
