#102
fuel tank heat molded to fit in narrow space.

wing covered and fitted

Less the two more 9 gms servo and carbon push rods, BEC, receiver, 2S Lipo 500mah it weighs just about 285 gms with everything inside. Pretty light I must say. With everything will not even touch 400 gms. ideal model for Cox 0.049.

I suspect i will have problems with CG as its tending towards tail heavy as of now with cox. I will have  to fit everything else upfront and may be go for a higher lipo too.

@ Girish, Mahin, Nilharsh Thanks.

@ Kamalsahai yes its a glider.

Looks a beauty Sandy Sir   {:)} {:)} :salute:

For CG you could try moving the wing back?

Didn't you use a Sullivan Flex Tank?

sundaram

Thanks Sanjay Sir,

That's a nice idea sir but I have already fitted the cross members with blind nut and bolted the wing nice in place in the groove. will try with remaining electronics. I may not be so badly off since CG is at 40% now. will get it at the wing spar.

I have used a Sullivan Flex tank 2 ounces. It has to be heat molded to shape if required which I have done.

Its with cox without throttle. Will always be a dead stick glide in for landing would not be too much worried for prop damage sir as the prop has been fitted to always stops at horizontal position on engine kill. May be a wings skid on belly is all that would be required.

sundaram

That's definitely a great idea sir.

sundaram

CG ultimately turned out to be perfect without any additional mod.

By far one of the best models for cox.

Nice to hear a Cox sing after many years.
Seems quite fast with the Cox!

sundaram

Yes sir. The Kit is very well designed with a very thin wing profile and excellent penetration & glide characteristics. It was just 8% Nitro in fuel and it was real fast in one more lean setting. I am sure it will be really fast with a 20-25% Nitro fuel.

Only down side was it was really difficult to fit a 9 gms servo flushed inside this thin wing profile. I had to cut out slot on the lite ply servo plate. The covering film is now touching both sides of the servo.

@SanjayRai - sirji highly inspired with your built logs , I too have bought this from a LHS.
Would like to know what electronics have you used on them.

Use 9 gram Servos all round, a small motor, about 120-150 Watts, with a medium RPM (about 1200-1500 KV) and a prop/ESC to suit

It's an easy build; the "instructions" are not always correct  ;) ;D so test fit and check before gluing

Good luck

Thanks Sir @SanjayRai :-)

This is my first built of a kit. Any tips / suggestions .

Reduce the slope of the learning curve

Don't worry too much. Just be a little careful, that's all. It's a relatively simple build

Do study the various stressed parts like wing joints etc. It would be a good idea to reinforce them

Sanjayji: What is the glue you used..I too have one kit lying with me for a long time now, will start the build

sanjayrai55

For balsa, cyano. Asian paints has introduced a Loctite medium cyano, available in all paint dealers for Rs. 70 for 20 ml. Its good

The covering is coated with heat sensitive adhesive. There are many videos on applying Monokote on YouTube
