Hi all.
i was in my home town for few days for Holi vacation. Built a simple model which is actually my first flying object. The happiness after seeing it flying in the sky (almost in ground) was amazing. i have completed it almost in a day. Never tried my hands on simulator nor with any other plane so was bit scared to give the throttle :giggle: .. here are few pics of build. the materials are collected on the auspicious occasion of HOLI. special thanks to my friend for climbing the poles for the coro sheet.
The news papers is being used for authentication for the date is a daily Oriya news paper called "Samaj" of 15th march.

Good attempt but you should practice on simulator and your next plane will surely fly.
Like this you will damage your electronics before Some real flight. :)
Please give me the fuselage dimensions asap,i just have to make that to complete my plane.
Edit - Do you have plans for it please?
@Priyum
Exactly I don't follow any plan.. still I 'll send you the thumb rule of basic design of making a plane . Hope it 'll help you.. now I can't give you the exact dimension of my build as I am in transit and my plane is in Orissa.. 'll pm you the thumb rule..
Happy building n flying
@Manoj ji... simulator is not my thing... any way 'll try to follow your instruction.. my next built 'll be a pusher one to save my electronics .. thanks for your valuable inputs.. guidance and inspiration from members like you are catalyst for beginners like us.. thanks a ton..
@jonywalker8pm .... I used to be of your opinion when I was a beginner tried many pushers ... Basically u really don't have good enough plans for pusher trainers ... So built my own pushers did fly but was not satisfied ....
My advise would be Simulator if not buy a RTF skysurfer / bixer ( pushers) if you really want to scratch build .... A twin boom pusher is the one you should be looking for ... All the best !
PS ...after all that now am on a scratch built Cessna and Extra 330 for acrobatics :)
@johnywalker will be waiting for your PM,thankyou.

Jony and docnayeem.
This was a design i have tried, and it was very good, can fly as great trainer.and can be later converted as Tractor. If you like , you can try that, any help needed for that, just ask me.

@Priyum
Spec are
wing span - 36"
Fuselage - 24"
Chord - 6"
pdf attached for the thumb rule.
Thankyou so much sir,truly appreciated.
Johnny , seems like the Thumb rule PDF is making a round around the world trip. should make it sticky for beginners.
i have it in my mobile for quick reference. i have a plan for pusher design, let me start after my pitts build.
to be frank, i have never tried my hands on sim but i can fly fairly well. hope to see you this weekend with a new plane.

I have few left over foams from my last build. i think that wont be enough.. I have to source some foam.
Any how, from tomorrow i will be working on a pusher.. we will meet this weekend..
Here is the Gmap location where HD thermacole is available in chennai

this is one such source and there might be lot more, but only few stock these kind of foam. rs 60 per piece. amazing stuffs.

My new plane.
Well Jonny Walker.... best of luck for bold thinking of not using a simulator and going direct for flying a model.... Well you can do that. Provided you can give the mistakes you did in your last model flying attempt. One look at that crash video I can probably pin point your mistake and the mistake you had in the model. If you know ur ABC of aerodynamics ad how an aircraft flies.... it will be easier for you to fly. Further.... the simulator just prepares you to learn to fly and reduces the chances of a crash. Your last model had a few errors which need basic corrections for it to fly (after looking at the flying of the model) and possibly in your way of flying.
Your model though looked good and would indeed fly well if trimmed correctly.
Hi johny bhai mo nua plane
Very good johnny. Nice design.
Hi Utkarsh.. the plane you are referring is built by another fellow member Rajesh14305.. nice design though..
Hi sobhit..
Thanks for the inputs..
And about my last model..
It was little tail heavy as the battery was very light and for that I was not able to correct the CG..
It was the first time I was flying. Was little scared to throttle it too..
Stay tuned for my next model for the sweepstake.. it's basic trainer but with few interesting features..
Will post the detail soon..
Rajesh... The flutes of the coro used to make the wing look like they are spanwise... this must not be done... the wings will get a triangle shape while flying rather than an aerofoil shape.. i might be wrong... correct me if i am wrong seniors...
