Is this plane gud for a beginner???

It's OK for someone who has some experience in flying and building models. Preferably should have built some Balsa model before

That said, it's not particularly difficult once you understand how all the parts go together

RCB had some simpler models too

eg  http://rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=1443

Sir, i have build a guillow model and 2 scratch build models, will this workout.

sanjayrai55

Which scratch built? Which materials

Guillows is good

I think you should manage; the instruction manual is not very good, has some mistakes, but it might have been improved by now

sanjayrai55

Also, this model uses heat shrink covering

abhilash9797

Scratch build I made it in balsa and guillow's Pilatus Porter model I did.

@abhilash9797,
There is enough material from two very experienced members in this very thread to enable you to decide if it suits you. The main problem is the lack of instructions.

However since you still have doubts why don't you post pics of your builds, especially the Pilatus Porter?

And if you post a step by step build log, and get stuck at any stage, I'm sure you'll get a solution from someone on the forum.
Best of luck.

sanjayrai55

I think you should just bite the bullet, buy the kit, and build it :D

abhilash9797

Should I give this plane any down thrust angle or paste the firewall following the front of the fuselage.

sanjayrai55

It's been 4+ years, but I suggest you first assemble without glue and check. Most probably the thrust is built in. Else, you could always add a washer or two later

abhilash9797

What is the height of the dihedral angle at the tip of the wing.

sanjayrai55

Go as per the supplied dihedral braces

abhilash9797

What is the approx height at the tip of the wing.

abhilash9797

And will it fly if I have a straight wing without dihedral.

Your asking this very question is adequate reason why you should not change the original design

abhilash9797

What kind of wing mounting does this plane have?

sanjayrai55

See your instruction sheet, and see the Build Log. These kind of questions really show a lack of application

@abhilash9797,
You may not realise it, but your questions tell us a lot (or at least a bit) about you!

Mr Rai can easily give you a step by step guide.
But the fact is he has already done so many times right here in this forum.
Could you put in a little effort to search?
Lot more pleasure in finding out than in being told

Another senior (Col sundaram sir)also posted a build of this model but with a glow engine.
See if you can find it.

Instead of just asking, perhaps you could seek?

Incidentally, if you are new to this hobby, pl consider getting a high qualiity kit like Guillows. Expensive but instructions are detailed.
Regards.
Pl PM me for anything you are not able to find out yourself. Glad to help.

abhilash9797

What was the final weight of the model?

sanjayrai55

About 650 grams including a 3S 1500 mah LiPo

abhilash9797

I'm getting 570 gms with 3s 1500mah battery.

abhilash9797

Sir, the carbon rods supplied in the kit are too flexible and that makes my control surface work correctly in pull and wrongly in push of the servo. What can I do to correct this problem as I'm first time working on carbon pushrods.

sanjayrai55

They are rigid enough. Check and see if nothing is fouling
