i used to love flying paper kites as a kid and still love, decided to make an airplane with these paper kite sticks and gift wraping paper, and here it is my kite stick plane calling it "THE IKSA" means  indian kite stick airplane, this is my first attempt so a bit untidy on the build.

ws30inch
wings and rudder are detacable
auw with 260mah 95grams
auw with 450mah 100grams

this plane has not done its maiden yet...guys wish me luck will keep you updated if it is successful or not till then some memories when buying these sticks from the kite shop

i remember some terms i used during kite season ..  manga(thread with glass coating),patang(kite),kala barik(black thread),dheel(leave thread),lapet(roll thread),gaseet(pull thread),badami (thread orange colour),gool(cut kite),chand tara(half moon and star kite),kala kawa(black coluor kite),gaslati(grey colour thread),badau(fly),dhaga,firki,kachamtani(two kites tangled together),kandi,muka(still in the sky).

.....please add some more if u had this thrill or craze in your life about these kites

Remember wing loading.  From the photo, I can't tell how strong the joints are on the wing.  Check flexibility prior to maiden.

romanxdsouza

ok sir will check joints again had used thread around all joints and soaked with feviquick, will check flexibility also,im only worried about the fuse stick its bass wood but seem weak for a 450mah fried the 260mah :banghead: :banghead: or eles iwould not have to worry

ok so the IKSA flew great even thou only 2channel throttle and rudder , no trim was required at all,has to be caught by hand while landing, can handle a bit of wind easily ,can be just put in a small plastic bag (check the pic below) for transport infact i traveled bandra west to khargar by local train this time hahaha   .dont want to put LG,will be trying on a smaller ground next.

i have 2 good videos of it but having difficulty in uploading the videos as its in HD and im no good in this stuff  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: the iksa did many flights can do easily  20mins with my 450mah or i would say even more may be if you just keep it up with power cut and let it glide it self infact i tried it . will try my best to upload these videos.

the IKSA is a success guys   :hatsoff:  ;) ;D 8)

thanks what i like about it ,is  i can remove the wings, elev, and rudder, uses only 2channels and   u dont need even half throt for it

theleabres

once you have the mini vapor, it should be enjoyed as designed for many many flights before gutting it to harvest the electronics

RCNeil21

Awesome stability and for only 2 channels it flies well. It flies like a powered kite. :)
Great craftsmanship
Build planes like feathers rather than tanks, both handle bullets equally well.

We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.
