I recently acquired a Spacewalker kit from RCB. Sujju-bhai has asked me to review it also, which of course I am happy to do
The Specs:
Span 1230mm (48.5")
Length 1140 mm
Stated Flying Weight
EP - 900 - 1000 g (I think it will pan out at about 1200)
GP - 1200 -1300 g
Power
EP: 2216-1400 ( a 2836) I disagree ;D
GP - 25 -32 (Overkill! 20 is fine)
Prop: 10*6 or 11*4 (Wow! @ 1400 KV that's a lot of prop)
Servo: 17 g X 4 (I will go with 2 X 17 g MG for Elevator and rudder, 2 X 9 g MG for Ailerons)
Battery: 3S 2200-2600
The packing is simple, and effective
(https://s25.postimg.org/pnxvyuybj/IMG_20160823_173446_AO_HDR.jpg)
One main packet of laser cut parts
One secondary packet, with Nitro conversion laser cut parts
One FRP (Fiber Glass Reinforced Plastic) Cowling (NOT cheap thin Plastic)
One bag of Hardware (comprehensive, including full Landing Gear)
One Instruction Manual (no plans; not needed normally on Laser Cut kits)

The kit quality is uniformly good. Excellent design wrt to optimization of the laser's utility, thus creating structures which are strong and light - these would be very difficult and painstaking toachieve by conventional means
The balsa is thoughtfully selected to suit the purpose - over 4 different grades used appropriate to the function. The Lite Ply is also of good quality. The laser cutting does very occasionally not go through the thickness of the sheet, but since one has to cut the tabs anyway, it's not an issue.
The part numbering is quite comprehensive, but I would advise some caution: in some cases the number is placed on a scrap piece. Better transfer by hand here ;)

Fuse front (I strongly recommend a trial fit before gluing)
There is the odd part wrongly numbered. Again, very few such, and easy enough to select the correct one by comparing with the pictures in the manual

I didn't quite like the 'look' of the motor mount (my suspicious nature >:D) so reinforced it with some scrap ply

After completing the fuse sheeting, I sheeted the cockpit. It's done with 2 mm Balsa. I dampened the balsa first with water spray, was quite easy thereafter

Nice review. Off topic, but where did you get that stackable cabinet drawer in the first pic?
I have 4 cabinets. 2 from Mustafa Supermarket, Singapore; 2 from some guy in East of Kailash, Delhi
Good Review.

@sanjayrai55,
You haven't even completed it yet, and all i can think of is:
"Sirji, mere pass purana OS20 hai, aisa ek mere liye bhi bana do na..."
There is a thread on RCGroups "RC modelling has officially died"
I want to put a link there to this thread titled "Coroplast specialist builds balsa kit"
If you permit me...
Regards
Iyer sir - you can build this with one eye covered with a pirate patch and a hand tied behind your back ;)
Go ahead and post! But folks there will wonder which Corro specialist :D :D
nice build!
I have another source for the images >:D
Very good build sir {:)} {:)}

very neat built. super sir
Sanjay Sir ...
Superb built, neat covering and awesome color scheme.. :salute:
Wish we both could fly our Spacewalker together :)
:)
Sir as usual.... Excellent built...... Somehow I liked the small spinner on this plane.
Can bigger spinner be fixed on this? Would love to see just for comparison.
Hi Saurabh,
Here are few pics of my Spacewalker which has slightly bigger spinner, hope this helps for comparison.
:)
Hey RC,
That is equally wonderful model. I must admit that Big spinner is matching the looks.
Would love to see Maiden videos from both Spacewalkers.
regds

I do have regular plastic spinners. However, the cowl design is such that there is no place for extra air holes. The air that enters through the cowling cools the motor, ESC and LIPO. So, to be on the safe side, I have used the Spinner Nut as seen
Thanks Saurabh :)

My Spacewalker was maidened in July 2011 ;) check the above link.
My model crashed a year back, nose and right side of the wing got damaged badly.
Repaired it and also changed the covering last month and its ready for re-maiden again, hopefully this weekend i will maiden it.
Will try to take a video and post it.
:)
Such a beauty, no wonder Sanjay sir built it.
Thanks Nitesh. You make one also - make and fly something!
Beautiful sir.
@Sanjay sir,
I made two planes flew them both and crashed them both. Will make another in these holidays.

Nitesh, just as you are born to die one day, the models are created to crash one day :D
Make another! Keep learning. Keep improving. And, practice, practice, practice!
All the best
@Sanjayrai55- Is it just me or are the balsa kits available on RcBazaar priced on the higher side?
Not at all
Here's a comparison:
http://www.banggood.com/Space-Walker-1230mm-Wingspan-Gas-Electric-Dual-Power-Balsa-Wood-Airplane-KIT-p-1033108.html
Several other planes are much cheaper on rchyper.
The redswan is selling for around 500 more on rcbazaar. Not much of a difference, but the rchyper's Sunbird kit was way cheaper. ( although it's out of stock now).
Sorry for taking over your thread, though.
Ahh, I was unaware RC Hyper sold the Spacewalker ;D

Thank you Gaurang
Hi,
This is Glauber from Brazil. I'm also building one of these. Would you mind posting a picture of how you connected both elevators? Haven't quite figured out that one yet, provided there is only one control rod.
Thanks!
Welcome to the forum Glauber
Please see the three photographs in Reply # 11 carefully
What I have done is to take a piece of 2 mm spring steel wire, make both ends pointy on a grinder, then bend in a "U" or staple shape. Before inserting into the elevator with some epoxy glue, it is a good idea to shallow drill 1.5 mm dia holes, so as not to split the balsa. I also make a shallow half-round groove in the elevator and stab, so the wire is seated with minimum gap between elevator and stab.
Good luck, and do let us know how your build is progressing
Nice build and maiden flight....
