Title: SPADMANIA - Scalling down for electric, 2nd cub
Post by: KALYANPRODHAN on September 08, 2012, 12:03:38 AM
Hi,
This is the step by step process for cub scalled down version from www.SPADTOTHEBOONS.net

# Here I recalculate the values for 36" wingspan.
# However the thickness of the fuselage is reduced for making less weight.
# And, the wing is considered with 3mm coro.
# Use Simcard outer (0.5mm thick sunboard like material) for control horns, nuts, etc.
# Use Heater coil nicrome wire as pushrod with flute as guide.
# Use Medium CA for fixing.
# Use Colured Tape for decoration.

Now Photo.

nice job.... but the fire is not predictable and in one specific pattern  :P :giggle:

ok, on serious note... reinforce wing saddle... some doubler on the inside will be better(ply 3-4 mm recommended),

what are u look to mount the wing with...? rubber-bands..?? u need to put dowels... again reinforce the dowels.. they may tear apart the fuse..

The screws of the wooden piece will be replaced with longer one with plastic pipe and washer.
the wing will be attached with rubber bands.
Pushrods are of 2000 watt heater coil. wire. This wires are steen/nicrome wire that is not rust prone. Again their rigidity is good. However for long run they need guide so that it cannot bend much and can response early. In coro plane you get flute as guide. But in other plane you may add some even paper pipes, Just loose for axial movement or used ball point pen refills. You can give spaced guides also.

The entire airframe comes 154 gm without electronics.
Thinking for using 2812 motor with 3s 1AH battery. AUW will be near 380 gm.
Wheel assembly is yet to be fixed.

Trying to complete as quick as possible. But personal problem restricts me.
It will fly soon. Waiting for 2GB, speed 6, microsd card to come for smooth video recording with keychain camera.

Thanks

Its lot of hard work kalyan da..

my experience with coro is not good ;D.. i cant even make a good airfoil with coro. :banghead:

coro planes are heavier too.. waiting for it to finish..actually i am much concerned about the weight for this small wingspan.

regarding keychain camera, i would suggest you to get class10 card. I have tried with "SanDisk class 6 Micro SD", but video breaks if we shift the position instantly.so i have ordered Transcend class 10 for myself and it has arrived yesterday. Not tried with class 10.

one more thing: I stole an idea from u >:D >:D
