A much delayed start for the sweepstakes, given my lazy backside...
RCB kit for the Stik
Started with the wing...
This kit does not have separate ailerons, but one has to cut after making the wing...
Thank you Sanjay Sir, Sandy Sir's build log, Google and YouTube
Vertical Fin
Fuel or electric? ;D >:D
My Favorite fun flyer.
Sandy Sir, Electric... for that's what we fly at our field...
I have two .15 and two .30 engines without carbs eating dust... if I find the carbs (and I don't end up breaking this build till then), I'll be happy to convert this to glow :)
0.15 Glow. Pretty much docile and aggressive to fly with.
TE LE Fitted
Ailerons cut, TE LE sanded ...on to fuselage now...
The tools of the trade deserve an appearance...
  good progress
Fuse dry fitted.. ready for gluing
Fins being covered... with vinyl followed by heat shrinking
Hurry and finish! I want to crash maiden it >:D
Feathers covered... Now onto the wing covering...

Hurry and finish! I want to crash maiden it >:D
Sanjay sir, crash or maiden it? Only one is allowed....
I'll maiden it. Buy one (maiden) and get one (crash) free :giggle: :giggle:
some items left in the wing so could not cover... added now...
Servo trays
The kit does not contain a spar, so I passed a Aluminium pipe and used Balsa cement to hold it in place.
Covered the fuselage instead...
Vinyl does not stick like monokote, have to use drops of CA/Fevibond to hold edges... Also the finish is not as good as monokote since vinyl does not shrink very much... but not bad overall given the easy availability, and better durability...Pin sized holes for letting air trapped in bubbles escape while shrinking are absolutely must.
Neat build sir!
Thanks Maahin
Wing ends covered, the middle will be covered with white vinyl to give a two tone look
Servo connectors etc all put into place...
Maiden Maiden Maiden!
Last day approaching. Time to put engineering skills (staying up all night) to use and finishing the plane ;D ;)
Is that gap planned between wings is by design. Interesting to know what you have planned.
Sandy sir, I measured against the provided wingspan, and then joined the wings aligning with the center line... the gap in between has a Alu spar running through for strength and is now covered by 1mm Balsa ply with reinforcing members inside... Will post pictures before applying final cover...
but the question is why the gap.... are you increasing the WS by few inches ... or you will stick the wings together.
No not increasing the ws... measured against the given spec of 1060 mm and joined the wing.
Here are the pics of the wing wrap and the covering...
Before the final settings on the Rx....
Looks nice!
Should be a great flier.
The maiden and second flight...
Ailerons reversed on first flight...Doh!

Took off again without the wheels... wind was up, expected rough landing

This is a wonderful model..balances very well with a nitro 0.15 engine, but I used a 2836 motor, ended up adding 50mm booms and its still just at the borderline... all in all flies pretty good, esp for noob pilots like me...
:P:P
But you didn't do full aerobatics ;);)
because I am noob pilot...lol...
You missed the roll with reversed ailerons 50ft above the ground... that's a real noob pilot
Some more fun on the stik today
Photos clicked on a crappy phone.. it gets to model for some long lenses tomorrow
Put todays pics :D
